I pulled my Ted Williams Leaf card off of ebay. Now I need to know where and how to go about having it graded. Is there a special grading for vintage cards? Thank you all you baseball card collectors out there!
psa and Beckett both have grading service.
PSA is better recognized though.
Also, just as an FYI, there is a proposed seller/buyer strike going on ebay from Feb 18-25 to protest new fees and inequitible policy changes.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to know if anyone can help me find a particular recipe from the very old vintage women's weekly recipe card library? It is the family chocolate cake, my mum has the whole recipe box but this card went missing years ago & we have never been able to find the recipe for this cake anywhere. It is the best cake ever lol and reminds me of when I was a child. If anyone has it or could give me some ideas of how I could find it it would be much appreciated!
Thanks!!
i googled youre query and got this recipe. I hope this helps.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups (500ml) water
3 cups (660g) caster sugar
250g butter, chopped
1/3 cup (35g) cocoa powder, sifted
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda, sifted
3 cups (450g) self-raising flour
4 eggs, beaten lightly
90g butter
1/3 cup (80ml) water
½ cup (110g) caster sugar
1½ cups (240g) icing sugar mixture
1/3 cup (35g) cocoa powder
METHOD
Preheat oven to moderate. Grease deep 26.5cm x 33cm (14 cup/3.5 litres) baking dish: line base with baking paper.
Combine the water, sugar, butter and combined sifted cocoa powder and soda in medium saucepan; stir over heat, without boiling, until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil then reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes. Transfer mixture to large bowl; cool to room temperature.
Add flour and egg to bowl; beat with electric mixer until mixture is smooth and changed to a paler colour. Pour mixture into prepared dish.
Bake cake in moderate oven about 50 minutes. Stand cake in baking dish 10 minutes, before turning onto wire rack; turn cake top-side up to cool. Spread cold cake with fudge frosting.
Fudge frosting:
Combine butter, water and caster sugar in small saucepan; stir over heat, without boiling, until sugar dissolves. Sift icing sugar and cocoa powder into small bowl then gradually stir in hot butter mixture. Cover; refrigerate about 20 minutes or until frosting thickens. Beat with wooden spoon until spreadable.
TIP: Choose a perfectly level-bottomed baking dish; one made from cast aluminium is the best choice, but almost any type will work. If the cake appears to be cooking too quickly in the corners of the pan, reduce oven temperature to moderately slow; this will increase cooking time by up to 15 minutes

Perfect for birthday parties, showers or any special occasion
Coordinates with other party decor
I see alot of people selling vintage images they got from vintage cards (birthday, christmas etc...) and then they put it on a cd and sell it. First of all, why can they do it and then they tell us we cant use the images and make crafts and sell them. Also...how can I get these images and be able to use them to make small crafts to sell?
What are the steps I need to do?
thanks
Copyrights expire 70 years after the creator's death. So vintage patterns and art are becoming public domain. Once the person takes those images and puts them to cd you have to respect the copyrights for that CD which includes not selling items made using the CD. Sometimes if you politely write to the maker of the CD you can be granted permission. As far as getting vintage images you just have to start searching old people's attics and then you have to research the copyright. Which is frankly, a lot of work.

Vintage Birthday Thank You Cards
Kids enjoy filling out these fun cards
My dad, who was born in 1960, used to collect these cards as a kid and he mentioned that there would be classic cars featured on the cards. Inside of the cars though were guys with big heads sticking out of the cars. I guess they were either cartoons or real photos...not sure. He vividly remembers having them as a kid. He wants to get a tattoo of it really bad but we have no clue as to what the name brand is. If anyone has any ideas let me know! I've already done a google search and have had no luck!! Thanks so much :-)
i think it's bazooka.
I want to get into vintage baseball cards. Where's the best place to find them other than eBay, maintage them (how to store them), and everything else you need to know. Thanks
Other than Ebay, I'd suggest dealing with a reputable seller directly or attending a card show to get started. Ebay is great, especially if you don't mind laying out some cash, to get a larger lot of such cards for good money. I use it on occasion to purchase collections (from 500 to 10,000 cards) to boost my own collection, since you get some great deals.
As for maintaining them, make sure to use top-line card holders and keep your cards free from dust, smoke, etc. I keep mine in an extra bedroom, where the temperature is very moderate and the sun doesn't shine in there directly too often.
