I have been pregnant and unusually sick (and in the hospital) since I married in June of this year. What is good wording for the thank you cards??? Short wording - since I am writing them by hand....
Something along the lines of "Sorry it's taken us so long to send you this note, but we wanted you to know we loved the <insert item here>." Perhaps include something specific about the item, i.e., we use it all the time (table linens), we hope to use it at our next family gathering (formal dishes), etc.
A thank you only really needs two sentences - a line for "thank you" and a line saying why you like the item.

So I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by all the thank you's I have to write. I've been searching websites for some help with different types of thank you's, and I remember seeing some once, but now I can't find them! Examples:
Thank you for someone not invited but gave a gift anyway
Thank you for a gift card
Thank you for an odd, unwanted gift (like a $5 MP3 player... yeah, we got one of those)
Thank you for contributing to a honeymoon registry (for a honeymoon we're taking in September)
I'm lost. Any websites you've found? Thanks in advance.

this sounds exactly like the one you were looking for so I hope it helps!! i know how frustrating it can be and to make it easier why don't you buy some really nice paper that matches your thank you cards and type them on the computer using a nice hand writing style font and then cut them out and glue them in the cards ..you can dress them up with rhinestones or something elegant but will save you so much time rather than hand writing every single card ..I printed mine out and everyone thought they looked amazing!!
Do you have any samples of thank you card wording for a wedding?
Also, what about for people who did NOT attend, but did send a gift?
Not attending example:
Dear So and So,
Thank you so much for the (name the actual gift here). We hope to (something you do with the gift) soon. Thank you again for thinking of us during this special time in our lives.
Love,
Wife & Husband
Cash gift:
Dear So and So,
Thank you so much for the generous gift. Spouse and I are trying to save for (a house, big ticket item, whatever) and thanks to you, we are that much closer! Thanks again for being a part of our big day.
Love,
Husband and Wife

Most of the parents of the children in my 4th grade class gave me gifts or money for Christmas. I wanted to send a general or blanket THANK YOU card to each parent. Unfortunately I don't have time to individualize each card. What should I say?
Thank you so much for your generous thoughts and warm holiday wishes. I sincerely appreciate the support of your family. The oppportunity to know and learn from your child has been a pleasure.
So. If any of you know what a bat mitzvah is, thats good, and if not, its a celebration of jewish adulthood. thats all you realy need to know. So, my Aunt and uncle who live kinda far away sent back a reply card in regards to my invitation. They sent along a nice card and a check for $150 dollars. Unfortunately, though, they can't attend because of My aunt's health. So, i need to mail a thank you card and include some words of wellbeing. I'm not quite sure how to word it though. Thats what i really need some help with.
"Dear Uncle Ed and Aunt Adele,
Thank you So much for your generous gift. I'm sorry you can't attend, but I understand that it would have been very difficult.
All My Love,
Rachel"
...or...
"Dear....,
I really appreciated your generous gift to me. I regret that you could not attend, but your presence will most deffinitely be there in spirit. Thank you,
Rachel"
...or...
(i'll write this one in addntl. details.
"Dear...,
Thank you very much for your wonderful gift. It is much appreciated. I'm sorry you could not attend our celebration, but I understand that it would have been very difficult for you. All My Love,
Rachel
OK, so what do you think???? add any suggestions, comments, anything, i need input. Thanks.
This (or something like it) is what I'd suggest:
"Dear Uncle Ed and Aunt Adele,
Thank you so much for your generous gift; (insert here if it's going to be part of your college fund, or whatever charity you might have chosen for a portion of your gifts). I really wish that I were going to be able to see you, but I know that it's not always possible. You will certainly be in my thoughts, and I hope it won't be long until I'm able to see you again.
Love,
Rachel"
This way, you've thanked them for their gift; you've told them what it's going for (charity or school or whatever), you've expressed the fact that you understand that they won't be there, and that you hope that you CAN see them in the future.

I'm in the process of writing our Christmas Newsletter. I would like to write something regarding Addison but don't want to make it depressing. I also don't want to give too much information or details as I don't think a lot of people will want to know all of that. So, here is what I have written...please let me know if you think it's too much or not enough. In February we learned that we were pregnant. On June 18th at 8:25 pm our daughter, Addison Gabrielle was born an angel at 23 weeks pregnant. We are all doing okay now; it gets easier with time. She will always be a part of us and we love and miss her everyday. This experience taught us valuable life lessons we would not have otherwise learned....
