Thank You Card Greetings

I'm a graphic designer/ artist and it's always been an ambition of mine to design greetings cards. Is it best to start my own business or sell my designs to publishers. Do I get them printed here, in Britain, or is it cheaper overseas? What quantities should I be looking at? Which is the best form of distribution? Should I sell my cards online or in stores? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, this father's day i wrote my dad a card that I think is really good a a frd of my suggested I should try to sell it a greetings card company... so purely out of curiousity & interest, how does one exactly try to submit a greetings card line to such companies?

Greeting card publishers have different ways they want ideas submitted to them; some require the ideas sent in on index cards, one idea to a card while others want the ideas all on one piece of standard 81/2 x 11 paper. To find out the correct format you need to mail in a SASE (Stamped, Self-Addressed Envelope) to the publisher and request the writer's guidelines.

Note that not all greeting card publishers accept unsolicited freelance submissions.

e.g a thank you card, do i need special machine or paper to do it?

you can google greetings card and you should be able to find something you could create on-line for free and print out.
You can also free draw a greeting card if you are artistic, that you wouldn't need a computer or printer for.
They also have greeting card software you can find on-line or at a Staples, Office Max or Office Depot store.

Thank You Cards

I just attended a job fair and met with a pharmaceutical sales rep. I would like to send him a thank you note, however he only has his phone number, email address, and company address available. Which do I contact to say thank you? Would I send a thank you to his email? and if so should it be one of those thank you greetings on the internet, or a simply message saying thank for your time?

You either send him an email to thank him or you send a letter to his business address. Would you really expect him to put his home address on the business card? Business correspondence should always go to a business address, not a home address.
