Office Thank You Card

A little bit of a question here at the office. A client sent us a thank you card and one of the employees feels they should hold onto it for what i think is far too long. So we decided to let the world decide. Let us know your thoughts on this.

Depends on what size office you work in and the team. We used to have a sheet (list) of all of the team members(60). This was used to pass around cards to be signed or read etc. In that case you circulate it and everyone checks off their name. Very simple each person gives it to the next idea. Then I would just toss it.

If it's a small office. i would post it in the coffee room or team mtg room for a week and then toss it.

At home I read it then toss it.

I think your missing the point of the card. It's NOT for the sender it's for all of you. So you have NO obligation to the sender if they stop in.

And if asked by the sender most people are smart enough to say "yes I saw the card it was very kind of you to send" end of story.

hello, i will like to know if is possible to apply for a work permit if my passport if already in the home office? i sent my passport to home office to apply for a resident card and i can be here in uk with my resident card if my visa expired or can i still with my passport in the home office for a resident card if my visa expired with my paassport with the application in the home office? thank you very muhc and i hope some one can help me with this. have a nice day

Applying for a residents card will confirm your right to work. It sounds like you have had an EEA visa. If this is an EEA family member visa then you are entitled to live and work in the UK without needing specific permission like a work permit (but there are extra conditions if your family member is from one of the A8 countries or Bulgaria or Romania which you must meet).

So long as your application for an extension of an EEA visa is made before it has actually run out then your status will continue as it was before. Seek further specific advice from one of the voluntary sector advice agencies as your questions are confusing and you have not given enough information about yourself.

My fiancee and I received a gift card as a wedding gift from my office. Who do I send the thank you card to? I'm the receptionist and I open the mail, so I can't just drop one in the mail addressed to the company. Do I give it to the person in charge of the office? Even though the gift was from everyone?

I think the first person has a great idea - bring some homemade goodies in for everyone as a way to say thanks. You can put a little note next to the goodies that expresses how much you appreciated the gift. Or send and email to everyone thanking them and letting them know that you have treats for them.

We received thank you cards for donating gifts to needy families during the holidays. What would be the best way to display them/share them with the entire building so that all employees can see how they assisted?

We have a small office and display them on the bulletin board. In a large office, you could scan them and send a mass email.

I have recieved a letter from my former school teacher, we have been mailing each other for like 10yrs and this letter & a card that I have just recieved this June.In the card it had a Office Depot Gift Card .I dont know how I'm supposed to write a thankyou letter, also since I dont want to write anything that I would sound greedy.

So what would it be a way to write a thank you letter for the Office Depot Gift Card?

It sounds perfectly fine to write a thank you. Simply say thank you for the gift and that you appreciate their thoughtfulness. When my grandmother sent me gifts for holidays and such, I used to always tell her what I bought, so she could feel like she helped pick it out. In this case, however, I don't think that's necessary. A simple thank you and such will be fine.
