I made thank you post cards once by using my printer and cardstock paper. The front was a photo of the gift in use. It was received in a pretty cool way :) Hope that helps.
friend of mine was in need of some boy thank you cards so I thought these colours would make for a non traditional baby card thank you but still ...
I am looking for ideas for a homemade christmas tree ornament that is light weight that I can send with/inside my christmas cards. Any ideas? Thanks in advance...
at craft stores, you can buy thin, almost paper like foam that you can trim into christmas shapes.
Using stencils (make them yourself on paper then trace them onto the foam and cut them out)
make a small hole in the top and tie string (gold or silver if you can find it) through it.....voila, ornament.
Or, using thin boxboard (like the boxes used to package frozen foods) cut out tree, snowflake, etc shapes.
get the appropriate colored yarn (or use flattened cotton balls for snowmen) and glue onto both sides of the boxboard until completely covered. tie with string at top to hang.
one more...buy feathers....really fine fluffy ones are best...glue three feathers (quill ends together in the sape of a cross)...use a fourth feather for the body if it's not wide enough. buy tiny styrofoam or wooden balls at the craft store and paint/draw a face on them. stick them onto the quills in the middle as a head. use silver/gold pipe cleaner or wire for halo....
have fun!
they dont have to be designed to where u can actually play them. i just need ideas of homemade instruments. thank you :)
toilet paper roll kazoos
toilet paper roll (or paper towel/wrapping paper rolls)
rubber bands
waxed paper
cut a piece of waxed paper large enough to fit over the end of the tube with excess hanging over. Put rubberband on tight enough to hold the waxed paper on and hum in the opposite end.
Oatmeal box drums
almost any box will do, really
it can be decorated or just tapped as is.
Whatever those oriental shaker thingys are called...
a stick or straw
string
masking tape
2 cardboard cirlces (cut smaller than a CD, larger than a 1/2 dollar)
2 corks or pencil erasers
scrap cardboard squares (size of a dime or so)
Make a small stack of scrap cardboard (not thicker than the masking tape. Place between the two cardboard cirlces. Put one end of stick between the circles. Carefully tape both circles together. Attach string to corks or erasers (a threaded needle would work best) and tape to each side of the circles. Roll the stick between both palms and it will cause the corks (or erasers) to thump the circles.
I would like to do something with my 4 year old daughter. I was thinking of making her daycare teachers a card. What kind of supplies do you think I would need? I don't want to spend too much money, but I do want her to have fun. I am just trying to find something to do with her since we have the next 4 days off. Thanks for any ideas.
a pretty flower card is always nice, you could do some hand prints with paint cut them out and use them as the petals and in the center but a small picture of her. you could only need to get some card, paint and glue. Or you could use other painting ideas such as bubble painting, marble painting or string painting.
you can find painting ideas at this address http://www.bigeyedowl.co.uk/painting-act ivities.htm
I would like to start selling my homemade cards and i need some help doing so any ideas would be helpful THANKS

Homemade Food Gift Ideas : Brown Eyed Baker

Don’t look now, but it’s December. How did it creep up on us so fast? I feel like this past year was a blur, it went by so quickly! Even if you’re still in shock that the holidays are actually upon us, the next few weeks won’t slow down for you. It’s time to start thinking about holiday parties, that ever-growing baking list you have, and of course, gifts. Figuring out what to buy people can certainly be vexing, and given the current economy it may be a lean year for a number of people. I’m of the opinion that you don’t need to spend tons of money to let people know you care, love them, and want to remember them at the holidays.
