Good Thank You Card

I had an exceptionally good nurse that helped my deliver my baby on Thanksgiving day. She stayed two hours after her shift to help me.

Is sending a personal thank you card ridiculous? I know it's not necessary but I really appreciate her!

I am a labor and delivery nurse and it is always excepted gratefully. We like to know when we are doing a good job. Also if your nurse took the time to stay after her shift with you it probably means she wasn't only being a good nurse but she came to care about you as a friend. We also like to see you and those beautiful babies.

They provided pizza and gift cards and cash, and you really are not sure who gave what. What should you say on the thank you cards?

congratulations to you.

your thank you can be done two ways: buy a blank card and write your message of appreciation inside for the wonderful surprise, the gifts and well wishes. this way you're able to thank everyone collectively since you're not sure who gave what. even if some didn't give, see their presence as their congratulations.

if or when you learn the names of the gift card and/or cash givers, you can send each one a personalized thank you note, (i.e. i finally got that cd from ......)

I just wanting to thank him for always explaining things so clearly yet making sure the class was not boring. I want to give him a thank you card at the end of the term but I'm not sure if i should or not. Would that seem too unusual?

Actually, he'd probably appreciate it. I've wanted to thank a couple teachers I had back in high school except I fear they are now dead (they were old back then and it's now been 40 years) or I can't find any trail of them to send a thank you to them. I think most good teachers worry whether they are getting through to their students at all and a thank you from even just one student would make all the stress and heartache and dealing with admininstration worth it all. Most teachers go into teaching to help young minds but they don't always get the feedback and encouragement they hope for from their students. Just like you if you taught someone something, a little thank you card would make you feel you did a good thing and that all your efforts had teh proper effect.

I went in for a job interview and my sister said it would be good idea to send a thank you card.
This is what I wrote:
"Thank you so much for giving me the oppritunity to be interviewed. I am very eager to see what it is I could learn and be part of your work team."

And I am having doubts about this....Like they would think I am trying to hard or something. What do you think?

As long as you spell everything correctly, hand write the letter, and send it out within 24-48 hours of the interview, that is perfectly appropriate and shows you are truly interested in the position. I have written a thank you note for every job I have ever landed.

I have been pregnant and unusually sick (and in the hospital) since I married in June of this year. What is good wording for the thank you cards??? Short wording - since I am writing them by hand....

Something along the lines of "Sorry it's taken us so long to send you this note, but we wanted you to know we loved the <insert item here>." Perhaps include something specific about the item, i.e., we use it all the time (table linens), we hope to use it at our next family gathering (formal dishes), etc.

A thank you only really needs two sentences - a line for "thank you" and a line saying why you like the item.
