We live out of town from most of our family, and some gifts have been shipped to us before I've even gotten the Christmas cards done! Do you think its okay to write a Thank You note inside the Christmas card, or do they need to be separate?
There is no difference whether you write thank you note inside the christmas card. do what you think is best for you. That is part of being creative in so many ways.

Really I got one in the mail thanking me for the christmas card. Should I send them a thank you note for their thank you note?
It's a little unusual to send a thank you note for a Christmas CARD. Usually, ppl just send you a Christmas card in return. No, don't send a thank you note for a thank you note. That would be really weird.
I doing some cards to say thank you to friends who have given my 3 year old son a Christmas present. He is drawing a nice picture and I would like a rhyme to say thank to go inside. We actually had a Christmas party with them where the kids opened presents. Anybody creative? Thanks
I'm only three
But it's plain to see
How much your gift has meant to me
So I'm taking this time
In my short little rhyme
To say thank for the gift sublime
i have to make a thank you card for a 7 year old girl/

Maybe make an abstract drawing / painting of a christmas tree.
Holiday background
Ribbons
Ornaments
Snowflakes
Glitter
Just creative designs, maybe poinsettia's- floral.
Wreaths
Snowmen
Candy canes
Reindeer
Santa
Presents
Sleigh
Christmas Tree
Holly
Mistletoe
Lights
Penguins
ETC!
Hope this helps!
My baby was born at the end of August, and she had several showers in Sept. I didn't send out thank you notes yet. Would it be improper to put a Christmas card and thank you note in the same envelope?
I don't think so. Explain that with the arrival of the new baby things got hetic and now that things are a bit calmer, you want to say thank you for the gift and wish all Happy Holidays. Anyone with children will understand I would hope.
Another idea for would-be inventors
One day recently, having concluded some contracting business, DB got up to leave when I pointed out her purse still hanging on the back of a chair. Whew! Another disaster averted!
On the way home, I started thinking someone (perhaps YOU) ought to be able to come up with some little gadget disguised as jewelry that a woman could wear around her neck or wrist, or ankle even, that would stay in radio contact with another gadget inside the lady's purse. When the woman gets more than a dozen feet or so from her purse, a little alarm would chime, reminding her to retrieve her purse. It ought to be pretty simple to build, and the technology for such devices already exists.
Someone looking for a little project could use this idea if they like. No charge! Just let me know when they're on the market. I'll be one of the first customers!

But my heart hasn’t really been in it. This is the first Christmas in 15 years that Troy and I have been apart, and it’s hitting me harder than I expected it to, seasoned Navy wife that I am.
In a way, this whole deployment has been relatively easy. I thought having a child would make Troy being gone much more difficult, and in a way it has, but mostly it’s been much easier than every previous deployment. I’m not living by myself, eating all my meals alone. I have a sidekick this time around, one who misses Troy just as much as I do, and funnily enough that’s made the past few months much more bearable for both of us.
Lately though, it’s been harder. It started with Thanksgiving, and now that I’m looking ahead to Christmas, I’m definitely missing Troy more—not in an I’m-so-empty-without-him, crying-myself-to-sleep kind of way. It’s more like I’m just aware of his absence all the time, and sighing a lot. That’s why I’ve been going through the Advent and Christmas motions, but not really too excited about them.
