I work for a christian non-profit organization and in our last newsletter there was an article about "eating an elephant".
in greater detail, the elephant represented financial responsibilities and that if everyone who recieved the newsletter were to take a "bite" by giving $5,$10 or even $1 then that would be a huge chunk of elephant. so as the bites began coming in, the thank you cards are getting ready to go out.
the front of the card is an elephant with a band-aid on it's side. underneath it says "thanks for taking a bite". any suggestions on what to put on the inside?
that sounds kind of disgusting actually.
my best friend is getting baptized and shes really excited, so im going to make her a card congradulating her. but im not very religious and i dont know what to write. does anyone have any ideas? other than congrats on getting baptized! lol. and shes non-denominational christian. thanks :)

We dedicated our 8 month baby girl to the Lord on Sunday...this is a christian dedication sometimes called a "dry baptism" anyhow, we had a luncheon "reception" party at our home and most people brought cards with money or a small gift like an outfit....
My mom and I are all about mailing thank you cards however, she mentioned for a christening/dedciation it's not customary to send thank you cards, as it is a religous event. Anyone have any experience with this?
We are dedicating my 5 month old son in September. I would definitely send Thank You notes out. I am not sure of the custom, but I think you should always send thank you notes out after you receive a gift.

Reportedly Reitman began working on this material four years ago, when the economy was good and Ryan's situation could be played for laughs. Not any longer. There are numerous sequences in "Up in the Air" where Ryan meets face to face with total strangers and, in his purring, "concerned" corporatespeak, drops the bomb. And then we see the instantaneous reactions he elicits, the horror and panic and misery and rage. Many of these workers were culled by Reitman from the ranks of actual laid-off workers, and their testimony intermittently brings the film a lot closer to, say, a Fred Wiseman documentary like "Welfare" than to a comedy from the guy who gave us "Juno" and "Thank You for Smoking."
