I need help wording thank you cards for my 1 year old's birthday party. Any ideas?
What I did with my boys was to write them as though they were actually writing the cards. Something like, "Thank you so much for the toy train, Aunt June! I can't wait to play with it, if Daddy ever gets away from it." If you want to be really cute, you can do them in crayon. :)

My great aunt gave me a very fat cheque for my birthday (to, in her words, set me up for future/career)and I want to send a long thank you card. However I'm stumped at how best to express my gratitude, I'm still a bit speechless. Any suggestions for passages?

It's hard to put something like that in a card.
I started writing some dotpoints but I dont think that will help you.
Possible a phone call might be best, at least then it will flow more freely than something that seems more forced and written on a card.
But also a hand written card, as well as a phone call would be perfect. Maybe even flowers.
Think alot before you make the call just write down your thoughts about what you can do with the money and how its helped you.

Looking for what to put on a little card that attaches to a giant hersheys kiss that is a "goodie bag" type gift for coming to a 1st birthday party for a little girl. The theme is cupcakes, but it doesn't have to follow the theme.
"Party favor" type gifts do not require a gift enclosure card. But if you'd like to enclose or attach one, "Thank you for helping us celebrate________ (my little darling's) very special birthday!" would be a lovely way to express your appreciation to your guests.
A few years ago, I received an invitation to be part of a "surprise" birthday party, but it wasn't an actual party - the idea was that friends and family were to send birthday cards all on the same day.
The wording for this inviation was a cute rhyme and I am wondering if anyone has something similar to offer up.

I need a decent line, not naughty one.
They don't sell any good birthday cards for middle-aged or elderly people here in Japan at all!

In all the years I've known you, I've never known you to be 55.
I used this phrase for my grandma's 65th birthday, only substituted the 55 for 65. It cracked her up.

The Big Screen Bulletin 11.16.09: This is The End...For Now
Now I'll be the first to admit I haven't been granted the gift of creative writing as my witty fiancé has, but he's asked me to share my memories and experiences of all these years (he worded it as "The Bowing Down to the Legend" but we're not going to go that far) so here goes. The Big Screen Bulletin has been such a big part of our lives for so long it's going to be really strange to live without it. While I am sad to see this enjoyable and original column go, I'm excited to watch as a fan, albeit a biased one, to see what he will do next. Right now I challenge you to find someone who knows more about movies and is more passionate about the entire business involved than Chad Webb. He watches

Don't feel it is a must do, however. At a time of loss it is not easy to find the right wording to say thank you for funeral flowers, for attending the funeral, support received and funeral donations when you are grieving.
