My friend and I were looking around, and we found posted to his fridge an invitation to a wine tasting titled "Naked Wine Tasting" for his parents. We were in an argument weather it was a marketing gimik, or a nude wine testing party. We went to their website, but that didn't answer many questions. For every point for me, there was one for him. We're wondering, if anyone actually knows?
Simply brilliant marketing, my dear. You'll have to check out Great Sex Brewing, then ;)

making an invitation for a "Wine Tasting" event for my plastic surgeons office
Do you have a specific theme to the event? For example, all red wines or all white wines or a specific grape. How about:
"Wine not come and try some ___________?"
I've never been to a wine tasting so I don't know what to expect. Should I decline the invitation?
You should go and keep an open mind. There should be lots of food to try along with other beverages so you won't be stuck without anything to consume if you don't find anything that works for you. You don't have to drink all that much at a tasting event, just enough to get to your tastebuds so you don't have to expose yourself too much. As a tasting newbie, you might want to skip the early, dry wines and focus on the sweeter wines as they are more accessible to those not so into wine.
I'd like to host a wine party and have each guest bring at least one bottle of their favorite. What types of food should I have available?
Also, should I contact a wine shop about making it a full-blown wine-tasting party? If you're familiar with hosting those, what can you tell me? (I'm not sure how many people I'm going to have, etc.)
The best tip gets 10 points ... and maybe an invitation if you live around Wausau, Wis.!
An exciting wine party is the "brown bag wine bash". To set up this party you tell every guest to bring a bottle of wine below a certain price range, and bring a brown paper bag that covers the wine bottle. Capping the price ensures the wines are all about even (A "No chuck shaw" rule might be needed if you have cheap friends =) ). Number each bag and you have a blind tasting! This setup encourages everyone to try each wine and comment on the flavors. I like to set up a big whiteboard so everyone can leave comments about each bottle.
The order of the wine tasting is important. Either make people bring only reds or only whites, or separate the whites from the reds and bring out the whites first. The whites should be chilled (~50F) and the reds should be served at room temp.
For food, just have appetizers in small portions. I'd check websites like foodnetwork.com, epicurious.com, and foodandwine.com for good wine parings and recipes. Make the food fit the wine, red or white. Make sure to have a variety since you don't know what wine your guests will bring.
Putting out a "spit bucket" will give people the idea that they don't have to drink a glass they don't like. Plus, people are less likely to lose their palette from over-consumption.
Enjoy!
The invite says "let's stock their bar for their new life". I want to have guests bring wine for wine tasting at the party too, what's the best way (if any) to word this on the invitation?
ask guest to bring their favourite wine (and cheese if you like) to help the couple find a new favorite wine. if you like, you can even decide that the best wine of the night (in the right price range) will be served at your wedding.
just say "bring a bottle of your favorite wine". no reasons to dance around it, it's not as though you're saying something impolite. and have fun, it sounds like it will be great!

When planning for a wine tasting event, the guest list should ideally be finalized at least two weeks beforehand in order to assure that everything needed for the event is available. Also, having the guest list put together in advance helps the host or hostess get a feel for the type of guests they are having, and therefore assists with the event planning even more. An innovative and fun way for a host to invite guests is to send out printed wine tasting invitations for their event. The wine tasting invitation may carry more significance than one might think in regards to getting guests to attend. If the host puts a lot of work into creating the invitations for the event, the guests will believe that the host is taking the wine tasting event seriously. Also, the host is more likely to receive wine gifts from their guests, which is considered proper etiquette. The style of the invitation helps set the mood for what the event will be like, and will be an indicator for the type of attire that the guests should wear. There are a number of different styles and designs that can be used for invitation cards. The kind of event it is generally determines which style and design will be used. Most wine tasting events are centered around a theme that is indicated on the invitations. A elegant and sophisticated theme is most commonly used, requiring the guest to submit the card for acceptance. In this scenario, a simple design is used for the cards to give off elegance. Antique wine tasting is another theme that is commonly used, it involves the serving of very rare, aged, and expensive wines. The design of the cards for this type of event will be most likely be integrated with pictures of antique wine bottles and consist of darker color.
