Wedding Shower Invite

We are hosting a coed wedding shower for pals who are getting married out of state. What's the best way to acknowledge that we'd love guests are are not able to go the the wedding to come and celebrate, or is it sort a given? I don't want it to look like we're trying to just hustle for gifts. also, do we put registry information on this invite or should that be left to word of mouth?

I agree there's some confusion on this question because the wording is awkward. I, too, thought you were saying these people weren't invited to the wedding (in which case, you can't invite them to the shower). If they can't make it to the wedding but were invited, that's fine, but you don't need to say anything about it either way.

And no on putting registry info on the invite.

Planning a bridal shower for my brothers fiancee. Need some kind of cute verse or wording for the invitation. They met when they were 13 and have been together for over 10 years so I'm looking for something that relates to this. I'm not really a fan of "Today Im going to marry my friend" or anything like that. Too common. Any suggestions?

My friend is throwing me a shower and inviting various high school friends and members of my hometown church. I know that they would never ever make it from TX to my destination wedding in Florida (near his family). Do I need to send them invitations because they were invited to the shower? I know that is the polite thing to do usually but is it different for a destination wedding?
(There is some overlap in who is invited to the shower and who I already have on my wedding invite list, but there is about a 30 person discrepancy.)

The rules aren't different because the wedding is destination.
Their ability to attend the wedding has no bearing on their invitation to the shower -- if you don't invite them to the wedding, they should not be invited to your bridal shower - period!

I had a very very small wedding that was just his family and less than 10 guests. Now some of the ladies from church (both of whom were invited to the ceremony) want to throw me an after-the-fact wedding shower. These two ladies are long time friends and watched (and helped) me grow up, and they asked me to compile a guest list for the shower.

Who can I invite to this sort of event, without offending people because they weren't invited to the ceremony? I REALLY don't want it to seem like I am trolling for gifts. What do you guys think?

Go back to the ladies who want to give you the shower. Tell them your concern, and ask them to help you draw up the list. Invite people who know the hostesses.
This is so very nice, showers are properly given from the heart and not out of obligation! Congratulations to you for having two dear friends.
