Unique Baby Shower Invitation

I am giving my sister in law a baby shower this is her first baby and it is supposed to be a little boy. I would like to make this a very special shower for her and I am looking for some unique invitation ideas that we can make ourselves.

making unique invitations can be expensive, unless you're happy enough to print the text out on extra thick paper then do something to it afterwards...such as....

-buy a rubber stamp (like a baby pram, or foot prints, or rattles - see hobbycraft online) and blue ink pad. a pattern dotted around will look sweet and simple.
- buy crazy scissors and cut a patterned edge to the invitation
- put a single (or double) hole punch at the top and thread a blue ribbon into a bow
- photocopy an ultrasound scan as the centre of the invitation and add a caption in blue like "mummy's having a party for me...you're invited!"

EDIT: ooh!! also found this - it has a printable invitation templates! they're so sweet! maybe you could do the blue ribbon thingy to these?

it is a website for people who love to stamp especially using Stampin' Up! but you could use their ideas and make them your own using rubber stamps or patterned paper from your local craft store. You can search on there by theme, etc...

HEY soooo my sister jsut had a baby a month ago and I have kind of held off on the baby shower till now.

I want to put a cute saying on the invitation but its not lik he is a new new baby and he has already met all the family so I don't know what to write.
Its sort of like a baby shower but more like a time where people can finnaly give thier gifts to the baby that they have been hanging on to ..
I hope i am explaining my self right..
I just really don't know how to put it down in words...

I would call it more of a welcoming party. Inviting people to join in helping your family to celebrate the birth of a new member. That's how I would word it. :-)

How far gone are you have you had the 4d ultrasound yet if so maybe get one of the best ones and print them on one side and use the other for the details if no 4d ultrasound then maybe a normal ultra sound they would be different never heard of them before then everyone can keep them and have a memory of your baby while it was still in your tummy hope this helps good luck
