Should I use a card or stationary when writing a follow up thank-you note?
thank you note for every language

I had an interview on Friday and would like to send a thank you note.
Should I use a card (nothing cutesy, I have some monogrammed and very plain thank you cards), or should I use stationary?

What exactly do I need to say?

Either a card or stationary will do. Also send it immediately after the interview. It could be a factor in whether you are called back for a second interview. Bring a thank-you card with you to the interview -- some candidates have them already written sealed, and stamped before the interview -- and mail it on your way home.

Follow-up letter after interview
1. Thank the interviewer for taking the time to review your qualifications
2. Restate briefly the special skills you would bring to the job.
3. Indicate your continuing interest and availability

Example of a good generic thank you note. I graduated and they sent a card, so thank you card to them.?
Dragon Thank You Note

I graduated and they sent me cards. I want a note thanking them for the card. Please help.

Mine was pretty generic, but it worked wonders. Obviously, most of the cards that you received involved money. My thank you cards all said.. "Thank you so much for the (insert gift here) $50. It will definitely come in handy at (insert college here) Marshall." You want to make it seem personal by putting the gift received.

Is it okay to combine a Christmas Card and Thank You note?
217 Kind

We live out of town from most of our family, and some gifts have been shipped to us before I've even gotten the Christmas cards done! Do you think its okay to write a Thank You note inside the Christmas card, or do they need to be separate?

There is no difference whether you write thank you note inside the christmas card. do what you think is best for you. That is part of being creative in so many ways.

Should I mail a note to the people who haven't sent me a thank you card?
Churchkey - Birch & Barley

I attended four events this summer and I haven't received thank you notes for 3 of them. The first event was over 2 months ago, for a high school graduation (he's already started college!) The last one has been over 1 month, for a bridal shower. I'm beginning to wonder if they didn't receive the card (misplaced or taken by someone else) or maybe they didn't think the gift was generous enough to deserve a note of thanks.

So, I thought maybe if I sent them a note asking if they received my gift and that I hope they've enjoyed the money or gift and appreciate the thought I put into giving them a gift. I'm even considering including an internet printout on advice on writing thank you cards along with a couple of blank cards and stamps to help them out! But I think that might be a bit too much.

You know what? I'm beginning to think a great gift for a child would be a box of blank monogrammed note cards, a book on etiquette, a nice pen and a book of stamps. Maybe that will give the ungrateful sort a step in the proper direction!

What are your thoughts on this?

Writing to them to see if they received your card is not rude; writing to chastise them for not sending a thank-you card IS. As tempting as it definitely is to call them out for their rudeness, do not sink to their level. Not everyone was brought up to be appreciative of gifts; it is sad, but true. Writing to them to make sure they received it will call attention to the fact they should have contacted you, but in a less aggressive way.

As for the gift idea, I think it's great! Go for it :)

Best Regards,
Holly

Question on a thank you note/card?
Thank You Note

My boyfriend invited me out to his mother's birthday dinner the other night and I want to send her a thank you card for having me. We've met before, he and I have been friends for years and we would bump into each other frequently, but this was the first time I had been introduced as his girlfriend so etiquitte is very important. I have no way to contact the grandmother who paid and I really don't want to apear stuffy or snooty, but I want to let them know that the gesture was appreciated.

Dear Name,
Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your birthday festivities the other night. It was wonderful to meet everyone again and to have such a wonderful dinner. I think tiramisu may be my new favorite dessert! Please send my thanks and love to your mother for dinner, it was very much appreciated.
Many thanks,
Me

I thought about saying, "Now I know where Blank get his kindness and sense of humor from!", but I figured that would be too much. Thoughts or suggestions?
I love the family and according to him (and by all evidence) they love me as well. Their really isn't any apparent wierdness, although in name I would probably not be the ideal mate for their son. Divorced (in the final stages) single mom......but his mother asked to see pictures of my son as well and said that next time I came over she wanted to meet him. Grandmother said I was a keeper and mother bought me shoes today.

I think everything on the thank you card is great, the only thing I object to is the part you already thought would be too much about "Now I know where blank gets his kindness and sense of humor from!" that part just seems like you are sucking up a teensy bit too much (even if you meant it sincerely, no offense!) the note is meant to show genuine appreciation and thanks and so you don't want them to think that you are just sending it to get on their good side. Other than that, I think it's wonderful!
