Shower Thank You Card

A family that is friends with me and my husband got us 2 big baskets and 1 toy box filled with great baby shower gifts, It is a LOT of stuff!
I just want to know how to send out a thank you card for that, I know you are suppose to kind of include a note about everthing you got from a person in the card so that it feels more personal, but I don't think I can thank them for every individual thing and have it fit in one card...what should I do?

Just give a general thank you for all the gifts and how you are so appreciative that they tried to cover all your needs. Mention the toy box and how you plan to use it. Mention the baskets if you can use those as well (great laundry hampers, or for storing diaper supplies in other rooms). Just pick one or two of the things and mention those specifically. If you write a big long list, it sounds insincere- which I know is the last thing you want to be.

I had my baby shower thrown for me last Saturday, April 4th. I know I need to send out thank you cards soon, but is it wrong to wait until the baby is born (around May 21st) then send the thank you cards with a family picture in it? So basically, by the time we get family pictures done and get the thank you cards out around the first week of June, it'll be 2 months after the shower. Is that too late?

I think it is better to send out the thank you cards now - simple, personal ones with a message for each person.

After you have a baby, you can send out a birth announcement with a picture. A lot can happen after you have the baby and sending out the thank you cards are not a priority. No one expects long personal messages on birth announcements as you just had a baby - so it is much simpler to get them made, stuff the envelops and get them in the mail.

I just had my bridal shower, and I'm looking for a little help with what to write in my thank you cards. I have finished all of the cards for those who attended my shower (thanking them for coming to the shower and also for the gift, etc). However I cannot think of what else I can include for those who were not able to come, besides just thanking them for the gift. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

A friend of mine just had her bridal shower and I received a thank you note with a cute little poem on it thanking me for my gift. Well my baby shower was last weekend and I'd like to use a cute poem for my thank you cards. Does anyone know of a good website with a few to choose from or any that they've heard? Thanks!

Rather than taking up room on the card with a cute poem, just write a sincere, honest message. (I'm going to assume that you do NOT intend the poem to actually replace a personal, handwritten thank you message. That would be completely unacceptable.)

My department at work threw us a wedding shower, and I'm not sure how to greet them, or to end the note. I don't want to use the department name - it seems impersonal, but "Dear friends" sounds like I'm about to give a speech. I also don't know how to end it. I don't like "sincerely" - would "Thanks again" be okay?
I wrote separate notes to each person who bought me an individual gift. The other 20 people contributed money for one person to buy gifts. I also wrote a note thanking the person who planned the shower.

I have a stationery business so this is something that really interests me. I have always been into thank you notes form when my parents made me write them at a very young age to now, making and selling them as my business! I think with writing individual notes to those who gave individual gifts is perfect. Writing one to the person who threw the shower is also right on. I think with a big group contribution, a heartfelt group email thank you is perfectly acceptable. If you do wish to write something on paper, send it to the head of the group to be shared with the rest of the group. But i do think you have handled all of the correspondence perfectly and a group email should suffice. It is ok if it sounds like a speech. All thank you notes do to a point. Dear friends, thank you so much for... how lucky am i to have such wonderful co-workers etc. thansk again for your thoughtfulness. signed, you and your fiance.
