Photo Baby Shower Invitation

The mother to be wanted to be surprised at her shower. However, she did want to pick out the invitation, so i'm trying to make the theme match the invitation.

I would like to incorporate some blue though, because that is her nursery color. Therefore many of the items she has chosen for her registry will be lighter blue colors.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm looking for things to make or buy, and I'm not worried about price that much.

well definitely animal print. maybe you can find some blue animal print table cloths. possibly you can have some rainforest looking trees. im sure you can get them in cardboard somewhere. and some little safari stuffed animals the of course she gets to keep for the baby!

Its not super thin, has a little thickness to it but not as heavy as card stock. And the invitation is about the size of 2 wallet sized photos (slightly larger but not by much).
Stuck in a hard place…My sister who is the host refused go thru w/ the print job for my other sisters design at Kinkos at the last min. We really wanted to use her design and the last time we used card stock / extra thick paper at home (for my father’s memorial) in our printer it was a DISASTER! We don’t have card stock and the invites need to go out like today b/c the shower is May 16th!

I honest think it will turn out ok. I think you just nervous. But it will come out GREAT!!!!!

I made my own invitations for the baby shower I'm throwing my best friend. I printed my design on photo paper to mail like a postcard. I've got all the information (when, where, RSVP info) on the front, but I need to put where she's registered on the back. I don't want to just put "The parents to be are registered at _, _, and _. I hope to see you there." What would you suggest?

maybe you could put the "parents names" have registered at "______________" where many gifts and things "the parents names" think may be perfect for their baby... Hope to see you there.

so for example:

"Anne and John have registered at __________________ where many gifts and things Anne & john think may be perfect for their little girl/boy on the way... hope to see you there."

Are you sure you want to do that? What if the baby ends up looking NOTHING like either parent? How true to type are the grandparents? great aunts and uncles? Who knows what recessive genes will pop out?

My son, at one day, was the spitting image of his maternal grandfather - when my son was held over the grandfather's shoulder, i felt i was looking at bookends while both heads were in profile (which may actually give you a much nicer image for an invitation, using both parents). My second child (daughter # 1) took after my side of the family. My last child (daughter #2) looked similarly to my son, but is the only readhead in her generation from myself, my brother, my sister, and my ex's sister.

You just never know. And this sounds like it will be your first. Congratulations! It's an exciting time.

My friend is organizing a baby shower for me. Is there anything that I could make/keep as a keepsake that will remind me of that day in the future? I would like to have something besides photos and invitation that I could include in my pregnancy journal or use it as a nursery decoration. Maybe something that people can make for my baby... any ideas? I prefer something artsy and creative but do not like the idea of a belly cast :)

I went to a baby shower where beforehand the host sent out a scrap book page asking us to give the new mom some words of wisdom and to decorate it any way we wished. We all brought the pages to the shower with us and she put them into a book for the mom to be.
