I need some advice for my plans for New Year's Eve 2006. Most of my group of friends (we are all high school/college kids and are very close) are going to a party at A's house. They have remarked about how they are expecting to see us at A's house on New Year's. However, A has not actually invited my boyfriend and I to the party. The invites were simple messages on Facebook, however A did ask for an RSVP. When asked if we would be attending the party (A was not around then), my boyfriend and I responded that we had not been invited. Other guests insisted that A would not mind and that she had asked them to notify anyone that she forgot. However, my boyfriend and I feel uncomfortable just coming if A is not expecting us. Adding to this situation is the fact that we have been invited to two other parties- a party at some friends of my family and a smaller gathering of our other friends. How should we deal with this situation, since everyone is expecting us to be at this party?
Advise A of the situation only if you actually would like to attend A's party. If you actually plan on attending one of the other functions that you mentioned, then don't even bother thinking about A's party, just let your friends know that you will be otherwise engaged that night. Decide which party you are going to have the most fun at and make arrangements to attend that party even if it is at A's. Party Up!!

Me and my wife have been given a late invitation to a New Year costume party. It is a bit late to go shopping for costumes so we decided to just use what we have in the house and as we are fairly similar sizes we thought it would be a laugh to go dressed as each other! And we thought we would have a poll on here to choose what we wear, so please vote or give us other suggestions! We are going to really go all the way to try and look and act like each other, every single item of clothing must be the other persons even shoes and underwear, and use make up, hair gel, whatever we can find, and even use each others names for the night, it should be really funny! Happy New Year and please vote!
Here are the choices:
1. Go in each others work clothes, she will wear my suit, shirt and tie, I wear her jacket, blouse and skirt, and hose and high heels
2. Go in best black tie party clothes, she wears a tuxedo and I wear her black cocktail dress
3. Beach wear - she wears loud t-shirt and shorts, I wear bikini and sarong
Or we have some old outfits from costume parties in the past we could use, wizard and fairy or pilot and flight attendant!

We will all wear something glittery for New Years. I need a slogan to send out for the invitations that asks people to wear some bling bling/glitter or something along those lines....
