Invitation

I'm organizing a BBQ party. And there is one person that I especially want her to come. But she is likely to turn me down with some excuses (too busy or sth.). So I was wondering how I can write an invitation that is least likely to be turned down.

Perhaps write a personal note to include in the invitation that it would mean a lot to you if she could come! And if she turns you down again, well, not much you can do . .. it's her choice and you can't force her to come.

What do you do when someone invites u or sends you an invitation but u don't wanna go? Do you send a reply saying u can't go or u just don't show up?

If the invitation is RSVP then you respond with an answer of weather you can or cannot make it. It is polite to let people know if you are going to accept and use the invitation or not. If you dont want to go simply use a small white lie and tell them you have been invited elswhere and already accepted. this way if you change your mind in the interim you can always ask if you can go as the others cancelled. See? very easy really

I received an unexpected invitation to the dinner party by my old friend. The invitation to attend this party costs money as the host put in an invitation card as 100 bucks and it will go to one of the charity foundations.
I find it awkard to decline his invitation straight forward as I don't want to offend him. How should I say it in a nice way to him perhaps I might just take it as no-show attitude and forget about receiving this invitation.
Personally, I feel this is definitely not a proper way in sending an invitation to friends for fund raising.

I think you should simply tell him you have prior plans arranged.

Ok well this is my first time getting one. How did I get an invitation? Do you have to be smart to get one? It sounds interesting, but what excatly is it?

I'd never heard of them until I saw them mentioned here a few times.

After doing some research on the net the whole thing looks extremely dodgy and expensive.
For starters, if you don't know how they got your name that would send up a red flag for me.

My fiancee is planning to visit me during summer to Guangzhou, China from Australia and the embassy asked for an invitation letter from me. I have asked the embassy here and there and they are not much of a help since usually for tourists are not supposed to be asked since it's only for a short period of time ( 3 weeks ). Anyway, is there anyone who has any sample for invitation letters that i could follow? Thank you so much for the help.

Indicate the purpose of travel of your friend and ensure that you will provide the accommodation and finance the expenses during the duration of the visit.
