I'm making graduation invitations for my brother. the invitations flip open and on the front Im putting (school name) graduation celebration 2008. but when i print it out, there isn't a way to fold the invitation without the grad. celebration part being upside down when someone reads it. is there any way i can flip the text or something?
Lot easier to use a card maker which "remembers" to do the printing correctly.

Hi All,
I want to give my sister a great celebration because she is graduating from nursing school next month. The dinner will be at a restraunt and I want it to be from her son, husband and sister. Something creative please. Also, we are paying for the dinner and want to let them know its ok to give gifts if they would like. Is that tacky? Kim
What you're doing is SO sweet!! I had a dinner at a restuarant from my parent's after my college graduation and it was SO nice!
You can do like the first person said and go to the craft store, the brand EK Success, has a line called Jolee's Boutique and they have 3D sticker's with nurse's uniform's and the equipment and things that they use for their careers.
On the invite you can write:
_______Graduated from Nursing School!
Please help us celebrate her special Day
With Dinner and drinks, and we'll pay!
It's a Graduation Dinner!
____Graduated Nursing School!
Let's celebrate her in a big way
Dinner and drinks on her special day!
It's on us, it's our treat,
Come join us and take your seat!
I wouldn't ask for gifts, it's tacky. I'm sure people will bring gifts on their own, but to ask for them is rude. If there's something that you want your sister to have, I would go out and get it, but don't expect anyone to bring it just because you invite them to dinner. I'm sure they'll still bring her something, but don't ask for it, it's rude.
I hope some of these ideas help and that she has as great party. Congratulations to your sister!
We have been invited to an elderly neighbor's birthday party and their adult child's college graduation party which are being held at the same time. We don't really know them very well and were somewhat surprised to receive the invitation. Is it proper etiquette to give both a card and/or gift? We're not quite sure how to handle this invitation...
You don't need to give gifts, but definately give them each a card.
Inside card includes checklist; For.....Date....Time.....Place ......R.S.V.P.

Mr. and Mrs. **** formally invite
you to the graduation celebration
of their beloved daughter,
****
at their residence on May 30th, 2009.
I want to add that everyone should be wearing black and/or white and that the attire is formal. can anyone please help me word that? THANK YOU!
Don't say "formally invite." The invitation is formal, the attire is formal, you don't need to say it. Dont say "beloved daughter" people will grasp that from the fact that you're giving her a grand party.

We didn't order any party announcements with my lil bros graduation invitations. We're having to create them ourselves. We are not a very creative family so any help and advise will be greatly appreciated.
Some info: Different people from different backgrounds; mostly all middle class to high middle class (i, e. I don't want to sound to snooty but I also want them to know this is a very special occassion for us).
The party will be outdoors in a patio type party rental place (i'm not doing justice to the area--It is very beautiful. The kind of place weddings and ect take place).
My parents are doing foods that would typically found at a cookout.
Here's what I have so far:

Graduation is a very important even in a young person's life. It represents a transition from childhood to adulthood. Many parents choose to throw their teenage child a graduation party to celebrate this very special event, but they can get costly. It is very easy to save money on a graduation party. With a little time, planning and hard work, a great, memorable yet inexpensive party can be thrown.
Graduation Party CakeWhat's a party without a cake? One easy way to save money at the graduation party is to make the cake instead of buying it. Bake a cake and frost it in the grad's school colors. Go to the cake decorating section of a craft store and buy some graduation themed cake decorations. Cupcakes are another good option. If a cake must be bought, try to find and use a coupon.
