I received an invitation to a bridal shower and on it, it says:
"Guests - please bring one pack of annual flowers for the bride's garden"
I'm not sure what that means, do they want me to bring seeds for her to plant? or actual potted flowers? and what kind of flowers are considered 'annual'? I'm have no clue about gardening so I'd appreciate any help!
It sounds to me like they are asking you to bring a "pony-pack of annual flowers"...meaning plants. (It's too late in the season to plant any seeds this year) Pony packs are sold at your local garden center in containers holding 4-8 plants per pack. Usually, all flowers sold in pony-packs are annual plants...meaning they live for one season, and die in the winter. They need to be replanted "annually." A few good ones to bring would be pansies, marigolds, snapdragons, cosmos, or petunias. Have fun!

I would actually say plants, not seeds.
Annuals are flowers that bloom once a year. Some common annuals that are popular would be:
Petunias, Impatiens, Vinca (periwinkle), snapdragons, marigold, zinnias, and geraniums. When you go to Lowes, etc, look at the flowers and they will say "annuals" versus "perennials."
Edit: Interesting how everyone else thinks seeds. I say call host and clarify. I probably would bring a plant!

4-6 is perfect it won't be so hot out later in the day. Make it a Jack and Jill shower so he can be there all day, and then do what ever you did on that day 5 years ago.

i'm hosting a couples Tool and Garden shower, should i put 'and Guest' on an envelope to someone who has been divorced and single for many many years or just address the invitation to him only?
Since you obviously have no issue with them bringing someone with them you should put "and guest". It does not mean that they actually have to bring anyone with them if they don't want to. They also may just want to bring a friend along instead of a date, but as long as you make it clear it's a couples event then you should be fine whatever they decide to do.
