Formal Black

I'm a 15 year old guy and i got invited to a semi formal black and white sweet sixteen and i have no idea what i'm supposed to wear.

Semi-Formal or After Five means that tuxes are not required, nor are long dresses. An evening event (after 6 PM) would still dictate dark suits for him, and a cocktail dress for her. In this case all attire would be black and white. Daytime semi-formal events mean a suit for him and an appropriate short dress or dressy suit for her.

My friend is looking for some formal black dresses for classical musical evenings except I don't know many shops online to buy women's dresses from. The general spending would be around £50-£100 so something of decent - good quality. Could you recommend some shops I could look at? Preferably ones with sales on now but ones without will do just fine.

My living room is semi formal, and has white with cream patterened couches, and a rectangle black coffee table with delicate turned legs. I also have cream and silver thin lamps. I need little end tables for my loveseat, black, square or rectangle, and not heavy looking. I have a budget of about $75 a table. Any ideas?

If you have a Hobby Lobby anywhere near you, check their line of furniture. They often have 30-50% off sales and you might be able to find some small wrought iron tables with cream marble tops which would look good with both the cream couch and the black coffee table.

i have this prom thing at my school, and its like this graduation party dance thing they call prom for 8th grade.. My date is wearign a red dress & silver shoes and purse.. My problem is, im trying to buy something that matches with her. does a red button up formal shirt and a black formal pants and shoes match with a silver tie?

way too much red. wear black pants, a black shirt and silver tie. then buy a black hat fedora style with a red feather. walk around all night talking about how your pimp hand is way strong. wear silver cuff-links too. and after a dance don't forget to "dip" your date. that'd be classy.

I know girls aren't supposed to wear white to a wedding, and I would think they aren't supposed to wear black.....the invitation states the wedding is formal, so come dressed as formally as you feel comfortable.....kinda vague-I know I can't wear my Levis..... Long gown with sequins? Short little black dress? I have a 13 year old daughter who is also invited.....what is appropriate??

If it is is a midday-afternoon affair, you can use a dressy cocktail dress or even a dressy two-piece suit (something formal enough you would not wear it to the office).
If it is an evening wedding, you can go full lenght: long gowns, sequins (in moderation), etc. As far as I know, if the gentlemen are required to use black-tie, the ladies can (or should?) wear long gowns. And just a pretty dress for your girl, something she will be comfortable in.
