i'm planning to have a christmas party, my first one and i don't know how many people would be the right amount to invite?

This is a Xmas party for the neighborhood. Since our neighborhood is new it's a meet and greet. Also it is being hosted by our Homeowner's association and will be held in the communities model home, (which does not need to be mentioned on the invite). I am not good with XMas invites... verbage...Short, sweet, catchy include meet and greet....HELP!!!

Tis the season to know your neighbors!
Rock'n around the neighborhood!
Santa claus is coming to ---your street name or community name---!
Deck the halls of --street name---

then just tell them about the meet and greet

OK so usually i'm good at wording things, but seeing as i'm coming off of a weekend, i didn't get much sleep and my brain is not working properly, here's what i got so far

(Events of the evening ) will include food, drink, music, presents, and games ( anyone know any christmas party games this is my first, and no drinking games lol seeing as how my guests aren't old enough to drink and one's pregnant )

Where: My then clean bedroom {[ this part is only funny if you know me so i don't need it changed cause they do }] ok this next part is tricky but pay attention
R.S.V.P. via text message by December 15th (that's not the hard part oh and btw this invite is going to be sent out by text anyway as i mentioned one of them is pregnant and due the 27th so it could be any day now, i'm going to say, in jest something like: the only acceptable excuse for not showing up after R.S.V.P.ing will be if one of you is delivering a gift into the world, considering if she gives birth no one i'm sending this invite 2 will show up cause we're all family, hell i won't even be there but anyway.)

thats the only thing i saw that was wrong...

and tell ur pregnant friend congratz on having a christmas baby for any baby born around Christ's birthday is blessed... and that i am happy for her!! (even though i have no clue who she is.. )

and play all the silly games that you played as kids, Twister is real fun when it includes pensioners, But other daft games as well. Like musical chairs, etc.

i have been to one of those parties it was fantastic i felt like a little kid all over again although i think it was enhanced due to the spiked fruit punch and jello shots. It was great we had all the old fashion candies and won silly prizes. It was a refreshing change from the usual club or party scene.

I'm Vat registered and clients as well as friends and family will be invited... i know i can claim vat back on my own hotel bill if I'm travling for business but I'm nto sure about this.

I would doubt you can claim anything back.

Part of the expenditure is to entertain clients. Business entertainment is not an allowable deduction. Notice 700/65 has HMRC's views on this. The legislation is found in VAT (Input Tax) Order 1992 art 5.

The rest of the expenditure appears to be private as it is for the benefit of family and friends. As such it is not a business expense and again is disallowed.
