Ideas for a Christmas Bridal Shower?

Does anyone have any ideas for Christmas themed Bridal Shower invitations? Any other ideas that circle around this topic?

Give everyone an ornament as a favor. Try to find nice bulb ornaments. Inside a few or all of the ornaments insert a piece of paper. On that paper is the door prize the person won. Hang the ornaments on a christmas tree. Have them pick one with they come in.

Also, I don't know what the bride and groom need (how well established they are in life), but maybe you could have each guest bring an ornament along with a gift or as a gift. That's one way to get all of the ornaments you could need to decorate a tree.

Also, instead of a traditional guest book, maybe you could have the guests sign a tree skirt instead. Buy a plain one or maybe one with a minimal decoration on it. Then get fabric markers, fabric paint, etc...and let each guest sign it when they come in. It's a lot better than a guest book you will only look at once then shove in the deepest, darkest, corner of your closet never to be seen again. Or maybe you could have everyone sign a christmas plate, christmas themed stuffed animal, etc...

For decorations, fill the room with poinsettias, use sprigs of pine and holly in the centerpieces, and don't forget to hang mistletoe under each threshold (if this is a couple shower)! Use holiday themed place card holders, or simply tie place cards to candy canes and put one on each setting.

Maybe one of the "games" could be to guess how much candy is inside a stocking???

Ideas for a Thanksgiving/Christmas themed bridal shower ie invitations? games etc?

For Thanksgiving you can use lots of fall colors-silk leaves, pinecones, gerber daisies. Use standard bridal/baby shower games but replace certain words with pumpkin, turkey, pilgrim, etc.

For Christmas-have a 'snow themed' shower. Use lots of blues, silvers, glitter. These colors look awesome for decorations!

Have fun!

Would it be tacky to use decorated computer paper for bridal shower invitations?

I would be using the kind that has flowers or something on it.
The bride just informed me that she is inviting 81 guests to her shower, and I am in charge of invitations. I just learned that invitations are NOT CHEAP, especially for 80 guests. Plus the cost of stamps and other things she will be expecting me to do--(help with decorations, food, gift)
The wedding is less that 2 weeks after Christmas, I just feel that this isn't a fair thing to throw upon people at this time of the year and expect everyone to spend their extra Christmas money on her and her wedding.
Also, I am the Matron of Honor....lol, what an honor

That is completely excessive to expect you to foot that bill. I would NOT, and in no uncertain terms would I ask for help financially. Speak to her mother, perhaps first. If not.....back out.

You can buy card stock for invitations, however, and print yourself.

I was in the wedding business for ten years, we handled 30,000 weddings, invitations, flowers, photograph, the works, and I never heard of anyone being used the way it seems you are being used. I'd think twice about my relationship with this Bridezilla.

What is a good company name for Photography/Graphic Design/Event Planning Company?

I am starting a small company that will include:
*Photography (Mostly outside in natural light - portraits, engagement, maternity, family, children)
*Graphic Design (flyers, invitations, favors, Christmas Cards, business cards, ...)
* Event Planning (Showers - baby and bridal, birthday, engagement parties)

I am very involved in my church and love Jesus with all my heart.

I have been thinking about a company name since July this year. I came up with
J29:Eleven Designs. (Favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11) This reminds people of 9/11. I don't want a company name that reminds people of a ver sad day in American History.

I have an excel spreadsheet that is filled with ideas. Can you help?

I really didn't want to have the name too long but because it encompass so much stuff I should include Photography and Graphic Design. You think?

I love these:
Pixel
Shutter
Blissful
Brilliance
Milestone
"Picture is worth a 1000 words"
Cali for California
Curly

Hi Cali:
I love Jesus too! You do alot of different things so you don't want a name like Shutter that just points to the photography part of your business. I think you need a broader name. I do alot of things too, all under "design" so I called my business "Plain Jane Design" and underneath that, list "photography, painting, interior design". That way, I can give my card out for any of those interests. I kind of liked the J29:Eleven Designs myself:D

Purple Party...... HELP!!!!?

This is a tough one for me, and I am having trouble.... help please!

I have this friend who is in her middle 40's and she is engaged to get married to a man in his 50's. Both previous spouse's have died and they fell in love together. Anyways, I am trying to throw her a party but they do not want anything. Both have houses and are completely furnished and don't want or need anything. The lady just wants a night out with the girls! Her FAVORITE color is purple so I was thinking of something with a purple theme. She is REALLY into purple, her entire office is purple, her Christmas' are always purple, and she usually only wears purple! It is amazing with all if the purple things!!

But what would we call this night? I can't figure out what to put on the invitations.... It isn't a bachelorette party, and it isn't a bridal shower, it is just a 'girls night out....... in purple'....

We have come up with 'purple bash' but that seems to put a 'date' on the lady! LOL, so some fresh ideas would be wonderful!!!

What are your suggestions?!!!

purple palooza!

This invitation was ordered for janell, a sweet woman that is discipling me through the women's ministry at our church. her son, nick, was married over the thanksgiving holiday in sweden, and he and his new wife, kristine, will be in texas for christmas. she is going to take advantage of their holiday visit to throw her new daughter-in-law a bridal shower. seeing as they will be living in sweden, this is also an opportunity for janell to introduce kristine to all of her friends and family. i worked for a beautiful boutique in plano for a few years, and did a lot of their printing. it was then that i developed a passion for creating from paper. i love the visual aspect of it. i love the limitless...
