Sage, brown and ivory for wedding colors?

I am thinking brown, sage and ivory for my wedding colors. My dress is champagne with a sage (celedon) sash. Have you seen these colors? Do they actually look good together once everything is put together. We looked at invitations with these colors and they were adorable.

Very earthy. I dunno, I'm kinda liking it.

Good luck.

My wedding dress is ivory and champagne. The bridemaids, junior bridemaids dresses are both clover. And the flower girl dresses are ivory and champange.

The wedding invitations are beautiful, but a little too old fashioned for my taste.

I love the flower girl dresses, they're cute.

I love the junior bridesmaids dresses. I think they'll compliment the bridesmaid dress very well.

Peacock feathers for wedding theme?

My wedding colors are chocolate, green, and ivory. My wedding is outdoors and I wanted to add something a little different. I've always loved peacock feathers. I don't want to go overboard with them. Just maybe some in my bouquet, in a vase on the guest book signing table, and maybe on my invitations (they are a simple chocolate brown with green ribbon). What do you think?
I'm not worried about it being bad luck. Some say they are good luck as well! It is what you make it. My grandmother had them in her house her whole life and she had great luck! How can something so beautiful be bad luck!

a friend of mine who makes invitations, made one with peacock feathers. I don't know what the reception was like, or where it was incorporated elsewhere, but I think that'd be awesome. I just took a picture a few months ago of a male peacock parading around, if you need a background picture for anything. I zoomed in on the feathers and it looked pretty good..

Paper in a Wedding - Decorating, Stationary, etc. ?

I've been considering doing a lot of decorating with paper in our wedding in place of exotic flowers or glittery, glassy decorations. My fiance and I have an earthy feel to the colors and schemes we find relaxing and beautiful. I'd love to do some more investigating into using homemade papers as part of our decorations (greens, browns, ivory-colors).

I've thought of using paper parasols for the bridesmaids in place of bouquets. What are some other unique ideas we could use for the wedding? It's not so much a theme as an earthy touch I'm trying to create for the atmosphere.

We're also trying to do this on a small budget while being recycle-friendly. So overly expensive invitations and decorations are a nada for us. As are things that are very much non-recyclable (we're willing to make some exceptions, such as if the product itself was recycled, etc.).
I love some of the ideas you guys have given, but not for the wedding. I really want *paper* ideas, not flowers, potted plants, and rocks. I like the idea of postcard RSVPs. I'll look into doing that.

Michael, you raise a good point but our wedding will definitely not represent prom in any way due to decorations. No paper lanterns, no fake streamers, etc.

I want classy, homey touches. With paper.

That's a neat idea that I haven't heard before.
I found a site that has really good ideas.
Here are a few of them
* Use a reply postcard (no envelope) and forgo the inner envelopes-you'll save paper and money.

Create a website with details about your wedding-directions, hotels, other weekend events, to avoid having to print this information out for everyone. (OR, only print cards with this information for family and friends without Internet access.)

* Use your program to let your guests know how important the environment is to you, and all the ways you have considered the earth in planning your wedding. Collect programs at the end of the ceremony and recycle them.

Here's the website address. http://ecomall.com/greenshopping/greenwe dding.htm

Good luck!

Dress code for wedding?

My best of bestest friends is getting married, and she wants me to be included plus i am the maid of honor... Though i never thought you need to get every inch of every corner. It's exciting in a way. Anyghoo, her theme (you know, the colors) is light blue and ivory. But she is still undecided about "ivory" since it looks yellowy. What do you think the dress code should be? At first, she thought dark gray but when i looked at the real shade, it would not look so good with gray. So far, since January, all she's gotten done with is the date, location, invitations, favors, dress, tux, rings, food, and colors and some other things i cannot seem to recall. It's going to be on July 11th 2009.

What colors do you think would go good with a baby blue?
Veeeeeeeeery close tone of the real one: http://www.qualityjunk.com/images/phatla ces_babyblue.jpg

My ideas were: Arsenic (a type of gray) or light brown.
Gray: http://www.princeton.edu/~chm333/2003/ar senic/images/Arsenic_rock.jpg

The light brown: http://images.nitrosell.com/product_imag es/3/609//thumb-ele%20light%20brown.jpg< br />
What you do think?
And what do you think should be the dress code?
I have not mentioned that some people can wear whatever they wanted. But i think she already knows about that since she has chosen to go with a dress code.

I am not sure if she wants just colors or a theme.
But she open for some themes. Help? (:

Thanks in advance.

i was thinking that since its a summer wedding ur friend would want to stick to warm colors like different shades of yellows, pinks, purples or even pastel colors[!]

i think that lavender or teal would look great with the blue in the picture.

but another idea is to have ur friend choose the flowers first and then go from there.

as for the dress code, i think it should be formal because it is a wedding. plus i don't think she would want for guests to show up in jeans and everyday clothes...

hope this help & good luck[!]

  • Clever Cupcake's Creative Cupcakes: Sage, Brown, and Ivory Wedding ...

The colour scheme of the wedding was sage, brown, and ivory so we coloured the buttercream on the 12 dozen cupcakes accordingly. Since the groom is a big fan of chocolate mint so we made a custom fresh mint infused chocolate buttercream just for him. I was especially pleased with how the cutting cake turned out. The fondant branch pattern was used to tie in the design of their wedding invitations. If you are familiar with the weddings we have done in the past you may notice that this setup is a bit different. The Inn was supposed to provide a cupcake stand but at the last minute they could not find it. Since the venue was so far from the city I had to improvise and make do with what they...
