Bridal Shower Invitation Ideas

I am planning a shower for my best friend and I need cute ideas. A little bit about her... she is obsessed with the fleur de lis symbol and the color red. Also, are there any new wordings or poems for the invitations. ANY old and new ideas would help. Thanks!

You could get opalescent red card, some transparent paper stuff (not sure of the actual name) with the Fluer de lis and some split pins from a craft store; then print out on normal paper what you want the invitation to say, stick it to the red card and then put the transparent paper over the top held together with the split pins.
I did this for my wedding invites and it was great!

My sister is getting married and i'm in charge of her bridal shower. I want to make her invitations and i kind of have an idea of what i want to do... i just don't know how to put it all together and not cost a lot. I want to use the "theme room" idea... but i don't know how to do it. She likes natural colors for her house so i want to use that as part of her invitation. Can anyone help me???

They were good price and quality and very accommodating. I actually liked there designs, but wanted something specific, so I just emailed them and told them what I wanted and they created something for us. Actually did a couple of different versions and they did the size that we wanted.
They can also do the color that you want, b/c they did that "Tiffany" blue color for me.

Since the gifts dont have to be beached themed, its just your decorations theme you dont need to make speial mention of it on your invite.

I've been looking online at Bridal Shower invitations to get ideas (I'm making my own). I was looking at the wording of the invites and almost all of them said at the bottom:

Hosted by the Bridesmaids

or

Hosted by Amanda Smith and Jane Doe

or something similar. Is that only done when there is more than one hostess? If i'm hosting by myself do I put "Hosted by Katie"?

Thanks for everyone's answers! Yes, I'm hosting by myself. Its at a restaurant and I'm paying for the buffet, alcohol, and decor out of my own pocket for 18 people. I don't feel like i HAVE to have specific credit, I just wanted to know what is normally done.

Yes-- absolutely--- do not open up the possibility of someone else taking the credit for your hard work and dedication. Make sure the bride has an un blemished invite for her scrapbook or wedding keepsake box. That way 30 years later she can reminisce and know what a great friend you always were.

Does anyone have any ideas for Christmas themed Bridal Shower invitations? Any other ideas that circle around this topic?

Give everyone an ornament as a favor. Try to find nice bulb ornaments. Inside a few or all of the ornaments insert a piece of paper. On that paper is the door prize the person won. Hang the ornaments on a christmas tree. Have them pick one with they come in.

Also, I don't know what the bride and groom need (how well established they are in life), but maybe you could have each guest bring an ornament along with a gift or as a gift. That's one way to get all of the ornaments you could need to decorate a tree.

Also, instead of a traditional guest book, maybe you could have the guests sign a tree skirt instead. Buy a plain one or maybe one with a minimal decoration on it. Then get fabric markers, fabric paint, etc...and let each guest sign it when they come in. It's a lot better than a guest book you will only look at once then shove in the deepest, darkest, corner of your closet never to be seen again. Or maybe you could have everyone sign a christmas plate, christmas themed stuffed animal, etc...

For decorations, fill the room with poinsettias, use sprigs of pine and holly in the centerpieces, and don't forget to hang mistletoe under each threshold (if this is a couple shower)! Use holiday themed place card holders, or simply tie place cards to candy canes and put one on each setting.

Maybe one of the "games" could be to guess how much candy is inside a stocking???
