they say baby showers are only for girls, but is it okay to also invite boys ?

Yes! It is called a Jack and Jill shower. I did this when I was pregnant with my first because my family had not met my then boyfriend's family yet. It was a good way to get them all to meet.

I am looking for a cute quote or saying to add to my baby shower invites. Its a boy by the way. Me and my mom are planning my shower and would like to add something to them. When my 3 year old was turning 1, I found a cute little poem about all the things she had done and that she wanted her special friends to celebrate that big day with her. I was really cute and was looking for something like that, that I can add to the invites.

First off, don't call me greedy. In my family we have showers for all of our babys and it is something that the mother always does. I have many friends that are helping, it's just in my family the mother is the one who plans and pays for it!!!!!

I just received an invite with an extra little card that reads "Although cards are nice, They're read once or twice A book is a treasure Forever and ever. So instead of a card please give the babies a book with your name inside.
I thought it a very cute idea.
This particular shower is being given by a sister whos sister is having triplets!

A friend of mine and her husband got invited to a baby shower who already have a five-year old girl and are expecting a baby boy this time around. The shower is arranged by this couple's friends and they are charging guests $ 35 per person ($ 70/couple) that includes the meal and the gift. Is this ethical? The couple wants to have about 100 guests. I think it's more like a fundraiser event than a baby shower.

That sounds lame. This couple will receive $3,500 along with at least 50 gifts (if you figure 50 couples attend and give one present per couple). That sounds excessive. I wouldn't want to be used as a cash cow.
