Baptism Card

Help please, the baptism is today!

I think you already have a nice card purchased. That can be placed in her baby book and will be a nice remembrance.
Just write "God bless you on this special day".
If you want to add a scripture; that would be nice. Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. I also like the Aaronic blessing. Numbers 6:25 "The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace".

Hi, for homework i have to create an infant baptism service card. Does anyone know what happens at an infant baptism step by step? It should explain what would happen and why. Please help.

The priest asks the child's name.
The priest asks the parents what they want of the Church. (usually baptism)
The priest asks the parents to commit to the raising of the child in the faith.
The priest asks the godparents for their support.
The priest asks the assembly for its support as well.
The priest marks the sign of the cross with his thumb on the child's forehead and invites the party to do the same.
(The baptismal party proceeds to the font.)
The priest leads the parents and godparents in the renunciations and credal statements of the baptismal vows.
The priest baptizes the infant in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The priest anoints the child's forehead with the sacred chrism (oil).
As the priest prays, a lit candle representing the light of Christ is given to the godparents.
White clothing is either put on, or if already on, acknowledged by the priest as symbols of putting on new life in Christ.
The priest then invites the assembly to welcome its newest member.
The priest finishes with special prayers and blessings for the father and the mother.

Actually, for "priest", read minister. Any baptized Catholic can do it, but usually its a priest or deacon.

Thank you so much for your "generous, beautiful" gift. (Or you could name the gift.) You could mention that you are sorry they couldn't attend, but you don't have to. Mention how you will use the gift or you can just say "that will sure come in handy." Thanks again!

im going to church tomorrow and my friend valerie,10 is getting baptised at manhattan baptist church in florida
do they make baptist baptism cards and if so can i get them a grocery store or big lots.

Yes, you can buy baptism cards for all ages. Just don't pick one with a baby on the front.
You should be able to get them in large grocery stores, but I don't think that Big Lots is a good bet. Maybe, down your way. Up here the selection is slim in Big Lots.

A friend of mine is getting her daughter baptized and I have no idea what to write on the card. She is fairly religious but my other friend and I who are putting in together for a present are not so don't want to touch on the religious side of it at all.

What can I write ? The verse on the card says:

ON THE OUTSIDE:
These are the moments that you will always remember.
These are the memories that bring a special happiness.

ON THE INSIDE:
May your Christening day be filled with
blessings from above. And may your precious
life be filled with joy and peace and love.
Happy Christening day.

The parents are Alicia and Tiago and the daughter is Katia.

Also, does it matter if the card has Christening on it, not Baptism ? The invitation says "Baptism", but I didn't realize this when I got the card OOOPS !!!!

I don't want to mention God in the writing. I am not comfortable with writing anything to do with religion.... Thanx :)

You may want to run out and get another card, the family might be offended by the term "christening" if they don't understand the synonymous nature of the word. As for the inside, you are going to have to touch on the religious side with what you write. Maybe something like, "Congratulations! May Katia be blessed in the faith as you teach her and raise her up in the ways of the Lord."
