Baby Shower Announcement

I'm giving a baby shower for a friend at work and I'm designing the invitation. I want something inspirational about babies written in it. No mention of God though.

My sister and her husband are Christian Ministers. They are expecting a new baby any day now and I will be sending out announcements and shower invites. I would really like to find the perfect Bible Verse to put on them. ANy help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I am designing baby announcement cards, shower invitations, etc and have decided I'd like to try to sell them. Does anyone know anyone who's a designer like this or know anything about the process, money to be made, etc.?

Only thing I know is companies like Hallmark pay by the word. Don't know about the design aspect.

Each card measures 4- 1/4".
Ask your guests to scratch off the silver square to reveal the winning ticket.
Each 24-card deck comes with one winner to reveal a picture of milk in the baby's bottle.

I think it is tacky to not send a birth announcement to someone that was invited and gave a gift at a baby shower. My mom doesn't think it is necessary because none of her friends kid's have sent birth announcements even though she has been invtited to their showers.

I have been to about 8 or 9 baby showers and never have received one-- I thought that tradition had been pretty much dried out? Maybe thats just around here (in Virginia)...

ok so here is the thing. I live in LA and my whole family lives in Chicago. This is my first baby. At first my mom wanted to throw me a big baby shower. But then today she called and said that by the time she spends the money on the shower and my travel to Chicago that she may as well have just bought me everything I need. I am flexible either way. I was just going along with the shower because I knew that she wanted to do it.

Then she asked me if it was appropriate to announce the pregnancy to friends and family in case they wanted to buy a gift for the baby. I am not sure how this works. Does anyone have any advice? If people want to contribute I am fine with it..or not. Either way I am not picky. Anyone have any experience with this??? HELP!

I think it's appropriate to announce it - you're having a baby! Why wouldn't you want to share it with everyone?! The minute my mom found out I was pregnant she was calling every friend and family member we knew! I am an only child and my daughter is the first grandchild. If you aren't having a shower you could send out little announcement cards saying you're having a baby. If you have a little belly showing you could take a picture of yourself and your parter to put on the front. That would be cute! Or you could just call people and tell them the good news. Whatever you prefer! I personally love hearing about pregnancies.
