My son is turning 1. We are having a sports theme party. I want to have a cute sports inspired rhyme on the invitation about him turning one, but this is not my area of expertise. Can you help? Some of my ideas to include are "come on over and have a BALL." "The fun has just begun.... our lil sport is turning #1" I am open to any ideas though. THANKS!
The whistles blown, the time has come,
for our little sport, to turn age one!
Its been a year, and he would love for you all,
to come on over, and have a ball!
i used some of your ideas... hope you like it
happy birthday!!
1st Birthday Invitation,
I need some poem ideas to go on the front cover of my daughter's birthday party invitation. She's born in April, she's turning 1 and her name is Bailey. (if that helps)
Thanks!
A year's gone by,
How time has flown,
We can't believe
How Bailey's grown
She's such a joy
And so much fun,
Oh my! Our baby's
Turning One!
Perfect for cupcake toppers or party favors.
Assortment of 24 blue/boy baby rubber ducks.
Ages 3+
I'm trying to write an invitation rhyme for my daughter's first birthday coming up but I'm stuck. I don't have a theme (yet) but am leaning towards "One Special Girl" so if that could be included - preferably at the end of the rhyme, i.e. "She's one special girl" - that would be great! Thanks!
We used:
Its been a year how time has flown
We cant believe how much she's grown.
She's full of smiles and so much fun
Our baby girl is turning one!
Using girl at the end is kinda hard cause not much rhymes with girl. The only thing I can think of is whirl.
Here are more ideas:
A little cake, a lot of fun.
A little host who's turning one!
First smile, first laugh, first tooth, first step, first birthday!
Join us in celebrating ___'s special day...
One little candle placed on the cake.
One first birthday wish to make!
A year of precious moments new and fun.
Our beautiful princess is turning one!
First birthdays are special and barbecues are fun.
Please join us to celebrate as _______ turns one!
Have some cake, join the fun,
CHILD'S NAME is turning one!
One little candle, one little cake,
one first year to celebrate!
I learned to laugh and squeal, then sit and stand,
and I can walk now if you hold my hand.
But the fun has only just begun,
lookout world, I'm turning one!
We can't believe it's been a year,
CHILD'S first birthday is already here!
She's cute and sweet and so much fun.
Our little princess/angel is turning one!
Time flies when you're having fun.
Can you believe it? I'm turning one!
Come for the fun!
Our little PRINCE/PRINCESS
NAME
is turning one
ETA~ ooh ooh. Hows this? .
A little cake, a lot of fun.
A little host who's turning one!

Im going to be sending out invitations for my sons birthday sometime this week(for march 20) would it be okay if I put that Noah needs clothes size 12-24 months, toys, books or list places they could purchase gift cards. Or is that rude?
I only add this because a lot of people have asked me what he needs, and there are some family that are coming that have not met him yet and dont know that hes a big boy
It depends on the way you word it, and how you put it out there. And it depends on the family I suppose. Honestly, I always felt like it was rude to leave people hanging on what you're child is into, what they need, and just leave them wandering in a store looking for things. I mean, that's what a registry is, the only problem with a registry is that it's done in one particular store and it's a problem for people to find it and look at it easily. After having to do shopping for my mom for the last 10+ years (as in, helping her find presents for people...) I honestly love the people who include a list of what their child is into, what they need, the size of clothes they want, etc. It makes it very easy to shop for them, and to me that's polite (making it easy for others.)
And then you have other issues. Like, Elmo and Barbie are not welcome in our house, so someone buying my daughter either of those would find their present is gone in a couple of weeks. I also HATE gift cards (unless you believe the people are drug-heads who would use money for drugs, there's no excuse for them.) They restrict your shopping, can have fees or expiration dates, and either you have to spend more than what's on the card or lose the money left behind if you don't hit that $20 exactly (impossible to do...) and they also dictate what you use the money for (let's say I want my daughter to save money, or to donate a certain amount... lesson averted unless I buy it from her.) so I hate when people give those to children or adults.
With my daughter, I tried to make it clear to people that any presents are optional, and that the list was a "wish list" we made to give people ideas ONLY. Most folks completely ignored it and got whatever they thought she'd like, and that was fine. My Father In Law, family who bought her clothes, and my parents used the list like a life-preserver. Especially FIL who went shopping at the last moment and gave himself a budget and went "Hey, I can do this, and this and that..." and got a bunch of things that weren't on the list but fit with the likes she had. When you have family who don't really know your child but want to celebrate the birthday, it really helps them to have something to shop with.
Maybe it was rude by some folks' standards. The fact is, it was written with the intent of making it easier for THEM, not to get the things on the list, and that means that it was done politely.
Add: And again... "you'll get lots of calls asking..." We didn't get one. Not her first year. Not her baby shower. Not any Christmas. This year I made a 'wish list' and made sure it was clear that the presents were optional and just an idea list to be honest. People didn't feel like they were roped in to follow that list (she got all sorts of things), and it was easier for others to shop for her.
It's a matter of your family. If you think they will call and ask, then there's no point in the list. If you think they will NOT call and ask, then there's a point to it.

Baby Birthday Boutique: Creating a John Deere Birthday Party
* Make invitations cut into farm shapes such as barns or farm animals. Put a small amount of hay straw in each envelope.
Planning Your John Deere Birthday Party:
* Send the invitations out a few weeks before the party. Be sure to include R.S.V.P. on the invitations. It is also a good idea to follow up with those you have invited to make certain they plan on attending. * Purchase items you will need for "farm" games and activities. A pin the tail on the donkey is a good idea. A game with eggs is also another good idea and can be based on the eggs the chickens lay. An idea can be with real or plastic eggs depending on the age of the party goers. See how many eggs the child can get from the chicken to the house without dropping them. Use your creativity with games since these can be lots of fun and quite memorable for the party goers and birthday child. * Consider building a fire to roast marshmallows on. Be sure to have the sticks ready to place the marshmallow on to roast.
