1st Birthday Party Invitation Wording?

We are planning a Luau themed party for our son who will be turning one. I am trying to think of some cute wording for the invitation. Any suggestion?
My question was for wording for invitations...not whether anyone thinks is is 'appropriate' for me to throw the party....

1st birthday party invitation ideas...?

My baby boy is turning one in a couple of weeks and I need some ideas on what to put on the invitation... for ex: Come for cake and lots of fun, our little boy is turning one. It doesn't necessarily need to rhyme, but I do want to put a picture of him on it with all of the party information. Also, any extra ideas for a first b-day party would be great! Thank you!!

we're doing a baseball theme for our son. it's really simple, but boyish. plus his daddy loves baseball. i made his invitations myself. they look like tickets to a baseball game. i'm actually really proud of them. we're going to have little snacks for the guests like cracker jacks and boiled peanuts. i'm making "all star" sandwiches by cutting them with star cookie cutters. birthdayexpress.com is a cute website if u just want general 1st birthday decorations and stuff. your local party store should have some things too. if u wanna see my invitation, u can email me bethwitt86@yahoo.com. hope this helps! good luck with the planning!

1st birthday party etiquette invitations for out of state family not attending--should I send invitations?

I'm sending out invitations for my baby's 1st birthday party. Most of our family is out of state and I know they won't attend. Is it forward of me to send out at evite or mail them an invitation?

Maybe email them and say "Wish you could be here for Baby's First Birthday". You never know and depending on how close family they are, they might just turn up so best to include them. We flew from the island where we live to attend our baby grandson's birthday.

1st birthday party etiquette for invitations?

Is it OK to mention on a 1st birthday invitation that we don't need any more stuffed animals? If so, how would you word it?

Also I know people want to get a gift that would be used, what about a birthday wish list? How would you word it? Or is that just poor taste? Or should I have just one ready in case someone asks for it?

Eh, that's tricky. I probably wouldn't say anything--I'd just hope they gave gift receipts! If it's a stuffed animal that you know for sure is sold at a certain store (say a brand that's only carried by Wal Mart) but you don't have a receipt, if they can scan it and it comes up in their system, they'll let you exchange it. If she gets a bunch of toys you don't like or she doesn't need, just donate them to Salvation Army or Goodwill--I'm sure some baby somewhere would love to have it!

Most people (I'd hope!) would have enough common sense to realize that a one year old needs toys to develop her senses--not a stuffed animal.

what is a catchy phrase to put on an invitation for a 1st birthday party that will sum up main party details?

details may include when/where/why........

Hey there (baby's name) fans! You're invited to the event of the season! Yep, that's right, (baby's name) will be hitting the big 01 on ( date)! So be at (location) at (time), cause we're going to have one great time! Come as you are, and bring your appetite folks. (here you can letting people know what to expect/what kind of party it is. If you are not providing a meal, say bring your sweet tooth instead. If you want them to dress up, change the come as you are to put on your fancy duds. Finish with a be there or be square!
