Greeting Cards with old movie stars on them?

I'm looking for greeting cards with old movie stars on them (Jimmy Stewart, Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, etc.). Do they even make them, and if so, where can I find them?

And I wasn't sure what category to put this in, so I'm sorry if it's the wrong one.

Found this with a quick internet search.
Hope it helps.

How likely are you to send greeting cards?

Are you a special occasion person?
Are you a "Sorry I Forgot" person?
Are you a "You're getting this card and you'd better just shut up and appreciate it" person?
Are you an "every occasion" person?

I'm an every occasion person - I send St. Patrick's Day cards to everyone, even if they're not Irish!

in the days of email and text, cards are a forgotten method of communication which people hold on to for emotional reasons and can mean so much so i try whenever possible to send a card for a special occasion. Esp thank you, thought of you today, hope you are feeling better, etc. Not the best at doing birthday cards - feels too perfunctory.

Someone i knew recently had a child who died and the cards she received have become some of her prized possessions.

As long as I give credit, is it legal to use a quote by a person living or dead in greeting cards I sell?

Sorry, nothing personal, but non-professional opinions are of no value to me. I need hard, legal facts. Thanks

If the quote is older than 75 years and from someone famous, i.e., Abraham Lincoln, there's no copyright infringement.

It becomes more risky with known living entities, as they can contest using their verse for profit. So to save yourself the headache of getting a "cease and desist" order, stay away from quotes from living people and those who recently died (their estate can sue you).

There's plenty of inspirational and well known quotes from famous people long past, that actually have better prose for greeting cards. It's the sentiment that counts, and verse today is often lacking memorable content -- "Yo, I'm pimpin'" just won't have much meaning 20 years from now, when someone looks at their card collection again. Make the greeting everlasting and withstands the changes of fads and fashion.

  • justJessika: I'm Sorry

This is an epic failure on my part (okay maybe epic is a tad bit dramatic). Life has been crazy but when is it ever not crazy? And therefore all I can say is I'm sorry. But I feel like I'm constantly apologizing - to you (what must now be the non-existent readers of this almost non-existent blog), to my family and friends, and above all to the Lord. I know I've probably said this before, but I feel like ever since January 1st, 2010, the car that is my life unbeknownst to me shifted up a gear and I've been running along side it trying to jump back in the driver's seat. Why am I not in my car? Don't ask me these things... it's a mental picture I'm painting. Run with me on this...
