Hello and Welcome! I made this video to help the 1st time card maker to make a card at home. To make a card at home you will need: 8.5 x 11 inch ...
I want one that has a large range of templates but also the capacity to create new ones and also be able to incorporate photos. I want to make and sell them. Also any ideas of a good beginners printer that is better than the normal home one. Thanks.

When I first turn my computer on, when I click on to Internet explorer, it will freeze. I have to try it a couple of times, then I'm on. The most trouble I have is with Lauchcast radio. and sometimes with yahoo greeting e cards. I first thought it was because of IE7, but my friends bought a new Dell & they have AOL as their home page & not IE, and their screen freezes up. I have uninstalled IE 7 & reinstalled IE 6, but to no avail. I wonder if it is that the computer is Vista windows ready. Does anyone have a idea? thanks.
Although I aint a Dell fan, it sounds more to me like you have a chitload of programs in your start menu that access the net! Launch radio, problably a messenger or two, a couple of file sharing programs, god knows what else! You are tryin to squeeze a 50 gallon drum of water thru a 1/4 inch hose! You people need to also realize that multi tasking doesnt mean your PC can run everything but the kitchen sink! You only have so much ram! Dont overburden it! Take a basic computer class!

I need a new printer, and have been very frustrated with inkjet printers so far, because the ink dries up in them, clogging the nozzles over time. I think part of the problem is that I go long periods of time without printing anything. I do print a lot, but only sporadically. I need an all in one, because my space is extremely limited, and I do like the photocopying feature anyhow. When I read reviews on home office color lasers, some people really run them down, but it always seems as if they are comparing them to their $5000 machines they use at work, so I don't know if the printers are junk, or these people are being unfair about their expectations for a $200 - $300 machine. I don't print photos at home, but I do like to use color making greeting cards and business cards & signs etc. I know for a home machine, the price per page of printing might not be much lower than inkjet because they get you on the toner cartridges, but I am hoping that having so much less wasted ink might make it worth it.
Anyway, advice would be appreciated! I think I would prefer a laser, for reliability, but if there are good reasons not to get an inexpensive home model, please tell me. Thanks!
Color all in one laser printers are not expensive anymore. If you expect to print 1000 (maybe 500) or more pages, you will save money with an all in one laser, the cartridges last so much longer, and they are more trouble free. Before you buy, read the review, preferable from more than one website.
I bought a HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi. Current price is $400 and it weight over 60 lbs size about 18x18x20 inches. The color prints are outstanding. My gripe is, the initial cartridges are very limited in size. However, I have had it for 6 months and only had to replace the black cartridge. It is basically for small businesses so good quality less expensive color lasers are available.
I also have an Epson inkjet to print CDs and it gobbles up ink and I only use it for the CD print function. For normal printing, I would never buy an inkjet; it matters not that give them away for the price the ink; they more than make it up on selling ink.
I'm in so much pain--my heart is broken. I wrote poetry for a small greeting card company, which I was instrumental in starting, for many years--my work had phenomenal success and is now known worldwide. I was given a seven digit contract and had to work 80+ hours a week. The owner, a control freak, and I got very close. He promised me the moon, telling me that I would never have to do anything more than I was doing--that my life was secure. Then suddenly, after I mentioned that I was one of the founders of the company, he turned on me--some kind of jealousy or control issue, I guess. I'll never understand it. Next, he breeched the contract and forced me to sign a new contract with a 70%+ pay cut. Plus, he made me sign another contract to work for him for another year for even lower wages--refusing to pay me until I agreed to these terms. As a result of this, I lost my home and just about everything I had. I was financially destroyed. I live in an old dump now and can barely make ends meet. It has been six years, and I'm still trying to recover from that nightmare. I've never gotten over it. The feeling of betrayal is so strong, and I'm so angry and bitter over it all.
Oh, and I must mention that he became abusive too, saying cruel things about my weight, telling me that I needed to evolve to his level, and many other things that are too numerous to mention here.
Well, I refused his request to stay on at the company yet another year--at an even lower salary, and walked away in 2005.
He continued to publish my work--over 300 million of my cards have been distributed. Obviously, he's making a good chunk of change. Well, now, he's trying to screw over other writers. He has a submission box up on his website that states that he gets all rights to any work submitted. As for pay, he's only willing to pay them $10.00 per card. LOL! That's laughable and pathetic!
I can't even warn them out of fear that he'll bring a suit against me.
And the craziest thing is....I'm hurt that he's now working with other writers. I'm grieving as if someone I love has died. I feel like he's taking the only thing I have left away from me...my spotlight...my success and wants to replace me. I don't know how to get over this.
BTW, I can't sue him, because the statute of limitations is past.
Any suggestions on how I can get past something so horrible?
It sounds as if you may have PTSD which is caused from a huge trauma event or from a daily pattern that causes a person to lose their sense of personal power. (Short version)
I went through a similar experience and I thought I was losing my mind. I wept at the drop of a hat and I am a strong woman. I suffered employer abuse for two years before I resigned. Through therapy I got okay again but without it I don't think I could have. I was broken too.
First things first, the best to do for yourself is to get therapy. The therapist will ask a series of questions, a lot on paper to begin with and then give you a diagnosis and you will work with her (him) from there.
You seem to be concerned for other employees but truly they will have to find their own way. Now you must take care of a much, hurt you and not take on other people's issues.
Refuse to be powerless at his hand any longer. Call the Better Business Bureau and formally complain. It will help you to know he isn't getting entirely away with it.
Begin a greeting card business again on a small scale. Do cards many people don't think of, as well as regular cards. Like:
Divorce Congratulations or Sympathy, Break up cards for those who want to break up. Sympathy for miscarriage ( much needed)
Loss of a pet. (much needed) Encouragement for people achieving something like weight loss, or leaving an abusive relationship, getting into college or the service. Encouragement for a new mommy who is struggling, or for a difficult pregnancy. Cards that express support for someone getting sober or quiting drugs, quiting smoking etc.I bet you can think of many more topics for cards.
You need to be on your feet again in the business you obviously loved.
It will help you to set your mind on your future rather than on the Employer Pig.
Realize he used you but his day will come. Of course you are grieving over his abandonment of you. Its not weird. You trusted him and made yourself vulnerable as his employee.. Accept that life isn't fair because greedy, jealous people live in it. There is one who knows the true worth of your life and that is God. We all get our just deserts but sometimes it takes a while. Instead of focus on how he was able to screw you over, focus on all the fine work you did and dedicate that part to God. You are a decent human being and that is why you suffer so deeply over betrayal. BUT life is wonderful if you can get passed this, learn what your rights are and become your own boss again. Even getting hired elsewhere would help you because you would be out in the employment world again. However I believe your first responsibility to yourself is to go to therapy. Life is way too short to let someone else control your feelings and thoughts. Put up a good fight. You will be okay. And just in case, talk to an attorney because maybe there is a month or so left to do something. Since its a civil suit who knows what are the rules. Many employers will settle out of court rather than have their lives tangled up in the courts. Just talk okay? Maybe you really can't do a thing legally but don't rule it out until you walk the extra mile. God bless you. My prayers just had you in them.

Whether or not it’s up towards the cards corporations, the answer is a untrained indeed.
