As in designs for greeting cards, posters, fine art prints etc.
What should be paid to the designer for the initial design and for a digital file that is ready to go directly to press?
Thanks in advance.
Check with the GAG, cause I think it's $50.00.

I am an artist. My skills and talent are in the fine arts. I produce greeting cards and prints for paper products. I have a ton of them ready to mail with a querry letter and special packaging, in hopes of a greeting card company wanting to buy my designs. I even have the addresses and names of the Art Directors of these companies. But I can't seem to mail them. They have been sitting in my studio now for over a year. What is my problem? I have also posted this question on psychology category as well.
You are afraid of rejection. My son (18) is a phenomenal artist, yet everything he ever draws gets crumpled up and thrown in the trash by him. Artists are very critical of their work.
Mail them in, if they don't like them, there are many others who may but you will never find out unless you try. Life goes many directions for many reasons. Someone may not like your work for greeting cards, yet may like the art work for something else. Again, you will never know until you try.
Don't stifle your opportunity for a productive future.

fear of rejection and fear of the loss of ambition. face those fears and realize that a child falss hundreds even thousands of times before he/she learns to walk. and realize also that everyones taste are different so you will have some rejection and some will love your work . everyone is so diverse. you could be sitting on thousands of dollars and the next line of cards as well as being the one solely responsible for bringing a wife and husb. together a sick or dying child a smile or a grieving wife a smile or a co-worker a laugh etc. do you want to have that kind of talent and beauty in your hands and keep it hidden in a closet while the smiles could be endless???

Hi, my name is Mae. I grew up in Seattle and moved to Massachusetts for college, where I still live and work. My passion (and part-time job) is making art– I love to paint, draw, write, photograph and make just about anything, as well as travel and explore new places. I spend most of my free time creating artwork for my shop.
I have been selling my work for almost a year, but creating art for as long as I can remember. My first memories are of watching my mother build or sew beautiful things for our house, and as a teenager, all my creative interests were supported. Pablo Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” I am lucky and eternally thankful to have a mother who encouraged me to grow up creative, weird and artistic.
