Cards Printing

I want to print my own recipes to fit on 4x6" recipe cards (print on regular paper) and I'm looking for a downloadable template or software program that will let me do it.

Microsoft.com has great Word templates for recipies and there is a couple in 4x6. Just type in templates and then search for recipes on that page.

I am using a template I downloaded from Avery and the cards are printing an inch too high. I have tried to adjust the template to compensate for the error but nothing I try works. I have played with everything from spacing to resolution but nothing will solve my problem. What should I do?

Have you examined your printer preferences? You may have your top print margin set at an inch. Try to set the margin to zero, and see if that's the problem.

I will interpret your formula to look like so

y = (3000/x) + k

and if

y = 11 and x = 500, then substituting values,

11 = 3000/500 + k

11 = 6 + k

k = 5

and the original formula can be rewritten as

y = (3000/x) + 5


<< calculate the cost per card when 300 cards printed. >>

and if x = 300, then

y = 3000/300 + 5

y = 10 + b

y = 15 cents/card

and if y = 7,

then

7 = 3000/x + 5

2 = 3000/x

and solving for "x"

x = 1500 cards.

Does anyone here have experience with printing professional business cards, and knowledge over what a good printer would be to purchase and start with? I make designs for business cards, and was wondering what the costs would be to use my own printer instead of outsourcing.
