Do they use like a press to get indentations, and fancy cut outs?
i need to know how people make cards... i think i know what printer to use, but cant get my head round the actual details.. e.g how to put a rose on the card but actually feels it sticks out (uneven)

The effect of a 3D image is produced by an indentation. Basically:
1) the image of the rose is printed onto the card.
2) a metal stencil the exact shape of the rose is made.
3) at a very high force, the metal stencil is stamped behind the image of the rose.
The rose (and other details) is printed and then stamped on from behind.

I am having the hardest time trying to name my new online Greeting Cards Business. I want something that is consumer orientated and is not something broing or obvious like "GreetingCardStore" etc
The only name I love is CardJester. However some people have said that people would not think I sold any other cards other than humouros. What innovative, creative thinking names would you suggest for an online e commerce Handmade Cards, Greeting Cards, Birthday Cards Business?

You say you are in the finance business. So I guess you want to have a good quality greeting card that looks extraordinary, but not too laden with decorations. Especially you will want to avoid anything that has pink roses and the like. Something more neutral, business-like will appeal to most. A gentlemen’s birthday card could feature a glass of wine, but if you are not sure about the recipient’s drinking habits, send one with only words, arranged in a decorative style, or with a nice landscape. My sister is getting into the card-making business. She needs some kind of slogan type thing for her cards. Kinda like Pilsbury's is "my heart to yours". She said that she thinks "from the heart" is a decent slogan... but that's not very original. Any ideas? It's just a regular little greeting card business. like birthday cards and whatnot.
How about just plain and simple, "Thoughts". That way the thoughts can be anything at all for the giver.
