If I wanted to buy something at Dicks Sporting Goods and had a gift certificate, could I use it if I was buying something online?

I love making kids say gift certificate. They generally can't do it.

I just received an ebay gift certificate from someone in my email and it says I have to pay with paypal and when I check out after I buy an item on ebay, I can enter my gift certificate through paypal and then pay but I don't see an option. How do I use my ebay gift certificate through paypal to pay? Please help since I've already bid and won something and need to pay soon!

I want to give my boyfriend (of 10 months) a gift certificate for himself to go get a tattoo for his 22nd birthday. He already has several tattoos and talks about starting a sleeve on his arm. How much money should I put in the gift certificate? Or should I just make a homemade gift voucher stating that I will pay for his next tattoo at whatever place he chooses?

Definately do the homemade idea. Cash talks...and since a good portion of tattoo artists can be flaky its best to have it on hand and not a gift certificate that has already been paid for. Think about it. The artist has already been paid if you have a gift certificate....it would make much more sense to him to book someone when he can still make money. Sounds bad and I am sure all artists are different but its how it works most of the time. In regards to how much $$$ to give as a gift, it totally depends upon the tattoo. As little as $50-75 to cover a shop minimum...or A couple grand for sleeve. Figure $100-150 an hour for a good artist.

I am planning on taking my mother shopping for Christmas so I was going to create a gift certificate and say something like this is a $200 gift certificate to go shopping with your daughter...something along those lines, I don't just want to give her money b/c she will spend it on bills or something that's not related to her and she hasn't been shopping for herself in a long time. So anyone have any ideas how I should create this gift certificate or how exactly I should word it?

Make it as though she has won a shopping spree, with of course a budget of $200...

You could make an envelope with "you're a winner" on the front, etc, etc, get really creative with it. If you could get your hands on one of those publisher's clearing house things, that would be neat!

I had received a gift certificate for a local restaurant (not a franchise) and didn't get the chance to use it. The restaurant burned to the ground a couple months later. The gift certificate said valid for one year and we had a newborn, so finding time was hard. Am I out of luck or is there somewhere I can go? I have not idea how to get in touch with the owner.

Send a letter to the address of the restaurant is the only thing I can think of. It should get forwarded to the owner. Good luck collecting because its unlikely the owner had fire insurance to compensate for un redeemed gift certificates.
