My parents will be visiting the UK for a month and will be in Devon and Cornwall over Christmas. I would like to get them a gift certificate to use somewhere close by, perhaps a restaurant or a nice gift shop. Does anyone have any ideas? (They are in their 70's). Something I can purchase on the internet or by phone as I am in Canada.
Where are they planning to travel to?

If they are traveling all over my favourite places to visit are Tavistock in devon and St Ives and Fowey in Cornwall
In Tavistock there is a traditional grocers, Crebers, which sells a lot of really nice stuff and they even make hampers

I don't really know Axminster and Lyme Regis that well as i'm from South Devon but you could try contacting the tourist information as they would be able to help you
and if your parents are up for the full english experience you could get them tickets to a rugby match there are many teams around Plymouth Albion, Exeter Cheifs, Cornish all Blacks, Cornish Pirates etc...but i'm not really sure that they would enjoy it that much!

The fun part is that they are truly from you to him.
Make them up for things that you may already want to do with him but just haven’t got around to doing. These give him an idea for a date later on when neither of you can think of what to do together.

My niece is engaged and they are having an engagement party in a week. And I am at a loss for any ideas. I have been told that a bottle of wine and wine glasses, and money or a gift certificate. Nice ideas but not for a family member. If anyone else has a suggestion, I would appreciate it very much,
you are not obligated to bring a gift to an engagment party, it's only meant to say congrats to the couple. If you want you can get something small like a bottle of wine. But you certainly aren't expected to get an engagement gift, shower gift and wedding gift.
My sister is turning 33 this Thursday and is in San Francisco on business till Friday evening. She is staying near Santana Row. We would like to have a gift delivered to her hotel, and would like it to be for a store (gift certificate) or an actual item from a store in Santana Row. She is newly divorced.
