I know some people think it's rude to e-mail Christmas cards, period. However, if you understand the rationale behind e-cards, what do you think about sending one from a tropical destination? Is it gloating to say "Greetings from (tropical locale)..." or is it just a hey folks Merry Christmas moment!

I think it's an interesting question actually. I think that some people would find it offensive in the sense that you are showing off that you are somewhere that they just simply cannot afford to be. Otherwise I would stick with the "it's just the thought that counts" saying. Most people usually appreciate the fact that they crossed your minds. Hope your decision is the best one.
My ex's mom sent me a Christmas card, and I'm debating about sending one back. Her Card was a letter stating that her husband has glaucoma, and she has Breast Cancer (see my other questions). Would it be rude not to send her a Christmas Card in return merely stating that I'm keeping them in my thoughts and prayers? I don't want it to be taken as an invitation to get their son (the dreaded ex boyfriend from hades) back into my life. Opinions?
I think it is a nice gesture to send one back. Just to let them know you are thinking of them too. I know I have been through my Christmas card list and noticed peoples name on there that never sent me a card, so I stopped sending them one. It made me feel like they didn't want to be bothered.
Handwritten, all caps? I have VERY messy writing and it only looks nice when it's in all caps. Any suggestions?
It only looks rude when you have a rude message with it.
