How do you make Christmas picture cards?
Happy Hanukkah!

Can my husband and I take a picture at one of the walmart portrait studios and then have them put the image onto a christmas card? Or do I have to go to the photo printing center at walmart with the picture and they will do it?

Use CropMom at http://www.cropmom. It's easy!

Register, log in then upload your photo or photos to CropMom. Click the Get Started button to begin creating your Christmas card.

Click New Layout and choose the 5" by 7" canvas size, which is perfect for a greeting card. Drag and drop your photo onto the canvas. You can resize and rotate your photo. Drag and drop any of CropMom's digital scrapbook graphics onto your canvas. Like the photos, the graphics can be resized and rotated. For a Christmas theme, check out the Oh, What Fun It Is kit and the Home for the Holidays kit. You can even add your own text.

Once you've saved your layout, you can download the low-resolution JPEG file for e-mailing to friends or for posting on the blog.

But since you'll want to print your layout, you can purchase the high-resolution JPEG file for a small fee. You can then print the high-resolution JPEG file at home, or you can have it printed by a photofinisher. Snapfish and Shutterfly make beautiful greeting cards when you use a layout made at CropMom.

What do I do with Christmas picture greeting cards?
Happy Kwanzaa!

Should I be saving the Christmas picture greeting cards that people give during the holidays? Is it appropriate to keep them or can I just throw them away?

I have mine in a picture album! It is fun to see how families/kids grow over time. Make sure you date them if they are not dated. Also make sure you write the people's names down - in the future your great grand kids might wonder who these people were!

You can also use the picture the next year. Get it enlarged and make a puzzle out of it and sent the card/puzzle back to whoever sent it to you in the first place.

You can make ornaments out of the pictures. Use it in scrap-booking. Have fun!

How can I get someone in the picture without them being here? (For Christmas Cards)?
100_4296

I want to make some Christmas cards of the family. My question is, if someone can't be here for the picture, is there a website I could go to and just put them in? Anything will help. Thank you!

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot...

No websites...Photoshop would usually be expensive and unrealistic looking in most cases. I don't know your situation, but I once did a family portrait in which the husband was in the service overseas. They brought an 8x10 of him without glass in the frame and it was held on the Mom's lap with her children around her. It was very touching!

I look for a picture editing program which can create digital photo or other picture to Christmas card.?

I look for a picture editing program which can create digital photo or other picture to Christmas card. If the program has a lot of templates such as Greeting Cards, Christmas Cards will best. Anyone know a easy to use tool as the description?

Go to CropMom (http://www.cropmom.com), then upload your photo to the site via the My Photos page (you have to register, which is free, and be logged in to add photos).

Then click Get Started and choose to make a new layout. Choose one of the 5" by 7" canvas sizes because that's perfect for a greeting card. Drag and drop your photo on the canvas. Then drag and drop any of CropMom's thousands of digital scrapbook graphics onto your canvas.

One of the best "kits" on the site to use is the Home for the Holidays kit. In the lower left corner, use the drop-down menu for Kits to choose Home for the Holidays.

You can resize and rotate photos and graphics by clicking on them. You can add your own text in the color of your choice.

After you've finished your greeting card, click save.

Then go to the My Layouts page, and click to enlarge that layout. You can now download your layout in low-resolution for free. The low-resolution JPEG file you download is great for sharing on the Web or for e-mailing to friends and family.

Or, you can click the pink purchase button to purchase the high-resolution JPEG of your layout. This is what you'll need so that your layout can be printed. The high-resolution layout costs under $2.

Now, you can either choose to print your greeting card at home. Or you can have it printed by Snapfish, Shutterfly or a similar online photofinisher.

It's easy. It's inexpensive. And you'll end up with a greeting card with far better graphics than what you can get with a lot of picture-edting programs.
