Non-Christian parents: do you find it offensive to receive a Christian/religious Christmas card?

I have many non-believing friends. Our Christmas cards are almost always Christian theme (photo cards from Walmart). I've never heard complaints of it before so I'm assuming it's not been offensive to anyone that I know of.

Would it be offensive to you though? Why or why not?

(please, keep it civil. that's all I ask)
pdooma- not in the least :) and you are right, the wise men didn't show up until later, but for some reason they are almost always in the nativity... lol.
Would it surprise you all to learn I was once agnostic? :) I understand both sides of the fence pretty well, though I am now biased to one side now.

I would say half of the Christmas cards we receive are of religious nature. I don't mind, at all. I like getting Christmas cards!
On a side funny note: You know how some people will wrap gifts in religious paper? Well, last year my mom wrapped everyones gifts in Jewish wrapping paper. When we pointed it out (because she isn't jewish) she just laughed and said "Oh, I thought it was just so pretty!" ha ha

Photography ideas- Christmas?

Ok, so my school is having a contest for taking a photo of something that truly means Christmas. (it is a private catholic school, so religious ideas are fine). it is going to be put on the front of christmas cards. it is due november 21 so it is kind of a bummer, no snow, not much christmas things up. so if you have any ideas, please let me know. thanks! =)

When you think of Christmas what do you think of? Do you think of the Christmas tree, candy canes, presents, snow and orniments? Or do you think of newborn Jesus in Mary's arms?

When I think of Christmas, the religious side, I think of baby Jesus, all the animals, and everything from the story of Jesus' birth. When I think of the non-religious side I think of my family, everyone being together, celebrating together, the smiles on my neices and nephews faces as they open the presents and finding they got exactly what they wanted, everyone laughing and sharing stories.

I guess it all depends on how YOU think of Christmas.

Good luck!

'Prayer warriors' helping to save babies' lives

In the first two weeks of the 40 Days for Life campaign in Little Rock, at least one baby has been saved from abortion.

In addition to Little Rock and Fayetteville, Catholics are participating in 40 Days for Life in 167 other cities in the United States, Canada, Australia and Northern Ireland, praying, fasting and carrying pro-life signs in front of abortion clinics.

Mary Pate, 40 Days for Life director in Little Rock, said a baby was saved from abortion Feb. 20, when a mother decided not to go through with the procedure.

During the 40 Days for Life in Lent 2009, 422 babies were saved across the nation, according to Pate. Nationally, 40 Days for Life says five abortion centers have closed, 27 abortion clinic employees have quit their jobs and 2,168 children were not aborted since the campaign began in 2007.

Long distance grandparenting for seniors in Joliet | Joliet ...

Some of us remember when elder grandparents lived in the same household with their children and grandchildren. It’s a rarity these days. Today, many families are scattered and separated by distances both great and small. The website GrandParenting.org says that no matter how far grandparents and grandchildren live from one another, there are two things working in their favor that can help to keep their bond alive and well:

First, young children have the ability to expand time. Remember when you were younger how time moved more slowly, and your house seemed enormous? This means the time you spend alone with your grandchild can nourish your grandchild for quite a while.

Second, technology is a marvelous asset in helping to encourage emotional connections over distance. True, technology can’t go fishing with a grandchild or help out a harried parent, but it can be a godsend to foster ongoing communication
