How can I make a photo collage for a Christmas card with Photoshop?

Pretty much says it all. I just want to combine 3 pictures together and make a christmas card and I'm totally clueless about photoshop! Please help.

You may want to try a program called "Pisca" its made by google. Search their website to find it. If you need some christmas clipart, try these sites: http://www.smilelikeumeanit.com/stock.ht ml

When is the best time to send Christmas cards out?

I just got all mine done, but I don't want to send them too early. I want them to get out b/c they are so cute (photo collage), but don't want to break some unspoken rule.

Personally, I send them out 2 wks. before. Do what you want. People like to get surprises in the mail. It seems like the earlier you get Christmas cards, the longer the Christmas season seems to last. To me anyway.

Grandmother and grandchildren -- does this seem odd to you?

My mother-in-law sent out a Shutterfly-type photo Christmas card this year. It was a collage of four photos -- two of her on vacation, and two with each of her children holding their own child (i.e. her two grandchildren).

The card read (all names changed):
"Merry Christmas from Rosemary and grandchildren, Alexa and Jacob"

I'm Jacob's mom, and thought this was weird. The grandchildren didn't *send* the card...why are their names on it? The card also does not name her own children (who are pictured), just the grandchildren.

Is this just weird because it's kind of lazy -- she wants you to know about at look at her grandchildren, but doesn't want to write a personal note?

I agree with you...it is a little weird. They do not live with her and so why is a christmas card being signed off with their names. I would imagine every family member that recieved the card thought it a touch odd. It does mean that out of everything in her life she is the most proud of her grandchildren and her vacations, but if I were sending out a card I would be sure NOT to exclude the spouses of my children in my proud parent and grandparent X-mas cards. She sounds like she may be a little difficult.

how can i make my photo files a certain size (in inches) using MS Paint?

I am making a collage to print on a 4x6 photo. I need my images to be 1.5w X 0.75h in inches to fit them all in. I am using Paint but also have access to Photoshop. Prefer to just take care of it in Paint though. :) I tried changing the attributes but all that did was give me the top left corner of the image. The photowill be a 12 month collage to go out in Christmas cards. Thanks!
I am familiar with the technique described in the first answer. However, that will not let me choose a specific size. And once I check the attributes after resizing it to see if it is the size I want, the picture becomes embedded into the work area and I can no longer resize it only. Or can I?

Open 2 instances of paint. open the picture you want to resize and right click on it and scroll to copy. Go to the other paint you have open and paste it in there. When you paste it you will see that it has a broken line around it . Put your mouse on the bottom right corner , left click and drag it to the size you want. When you get it to the size you want , click on a blank spot and the lines will disappear. Go back to the other paint open the next picture copy and paste it in the other paint shrink it then position it next to the 1st picture . Go back and keep opening copying and pasting till you have all your pictures done When you have everything shrunk down and positioned Save the collage as 1 picture. In other words anything you paste into paint can be resized You can copy pictures from a web page and paste it and resize it.
I hope this makes sense, its easyier than it sounds

Christmas gift ideas for my Family?

I know it may be a little early.. but this is when i start saving up my money to buy people presents so I dont have to bother my parents to give me money.

Mom- Well I'm already thinking of getting her a $20 gift card to bath and body works

Dad- He says he wants a bunch of pictures of me so I am thinking of finding baby pictures and then finding pictures of me getting older and older and make a collage/photo album... (would he like that?)

Oldest Sister- I know I am already getting her this pie baking thing (she asked for it).

Middle Sister- She just turned 21,, she doesnt go to college, but works at this bakery/lunch place. Uhm she listens to Reggae- Hip/hop,, she is really laid back,, she smokes,, she has two tattoos,, but blehhhh i really don't know what to get her. I was thinking a shirt or a really cool belt buckle.

Last Sister- She is turning 19 in May,, This year was her first year of college, she goes to a place in California and is Majoring in Animal Science I think. She is a raver, and she is a little bit of hippie, she listens to reggae, hip-hop, techo, trance, electronica, some other weird genres i dont know.. She is the sister I am closest too and I can talk to her about pretty much anything.

Other People:

Boyfriend- He plays football and wrestles,, he always knows how to make me laugh,, uhm idk boyfriends are hard to shop for!!

Friends: I have 6 friends I want to get things for,,, I think for 2 of them I want to get different things but for the other 4 I was thinking of getting them pretty much the same things but I dont know what :/
Hmm.. I was maybe thinking I would make bracelets for the 4 but make everybody one matching one of my friend's personalities.

Sorry this a little long! but I need help thinking :p
Thanks! :]
