I really don't understand this. On christmas...I call everyone in my phone book to wish them a marry christmas. So why the cards
It's a hold-over tradition. In the days before inexpensive long-distance calls, it was a good way to get back in touch with the people you care about but rarely see. You could also send a current photo of yourself.
Nowadays you can just email or call and it's basically free.
Sending Christmas cards was a way of connecting to others in a world where people weren't nearly as connected as they are today.

We got married this year on leap day and ended up sending out over 100 thank you cards.
Should we also use this list for Christmas cards or is this over-kill? Usually I send out 20-30 cards. Maybe I should just stick to the usual list. I hand make all my Christmas cards, so I'd rather do 20-30 than 100!
Stick to the 20 or 30. Especially if you hand make them. I like to hand make mine too. You could also just go buy some cards for other people and then just send the handmade ones to the people you usually do. Since I have gotten married I have a few new people to consider, but they seem to enjoy the store bought cards. Probably because my husband was never into sending cards at all..lol.
i have lived with my boyfriend for the last 6 mo. we are planning to get married in 2 yrs. when we are both done with school. is it acceptable for us to send out cards form the both of us?
I see no problem with that. In fact it's kind of nice.
I am married with my own home now so this is my first year sending out x-mas cards. I am not sure when I am suppose to send them though, any suggestions?
December 1.
I grew up religious, and we did not celebrate any holidays. I am now married, no longer religious, and we celebrate the holidays with my husbands family and our son of corse. Growing up, my mother also pushed thank you cards, so I am used to sending cards out for everything. At christmas time, our son gets so many things, it is hard to keep straight who gave him what. Is it customary to keep track of things to send everyone out a thank you card for christmas gifts?
You should send a thank you card to everyone who sent a gift. Gifts recieved in person do not require a card.
But it's nice for a gift recieved in the mail, because number one, it lets the person know the gift got there okay, and number two, its just polite.
My grandma has pretty much stopped sending gifts to my cousin because she never wrote a thank-you card.
Sending thank you cards also teaches your son to be grateful and not just expect gifts all the time.

It's time for another project from Heartfelt Creations ! This time I got tot work with the gorgeous stamps from the " Cardinal Family " collection, got to do lots of coloring on this card, great fun!! I have also been using my Cricut a lot lately, here I used it to cut all the decorative edge squares and the decorative edge label. Ink edges of patterned paper with distress ink. Stamp the Large Word Background on grey cardstock with bundled sage distress ink, ink edges with distress ink, spray with glimmer mist and dry with heat tool. Cut 2 borders from red cardstock with the decorative border die, cut one border from grey cardstock with same die. Layer borders under cardstock...
