Happy New Year Cards

I want to be different this year with sending New Year cards instead of the Happy Holiday cards. Any ideas?

I plan to send either Christmas or New Year cards out this year, and I would like to do something a bit different. I'd love to read about what you do, or ideas from greeting cards/letters/notes that you have received. Perhaps you have memories of how it was done by your parents or grandparents? I have a gorgeous Happy New Year card that my grandmother received in 1926, and used it as inspiration for my holiday greeting cards a few years ago.

i think that a new years cards would be great. my family were thinking instead if a christmas pictures we would do a new years theme picture instead. something different. my great and grand parents used to make ornaments with the old cards. they were awesome

I've bought heavyweight card stock unruled 4x6 index cards to save on postage, using sea sponges with acrylics and black razor-tip or extra-fine pens for design. The stock can be bought from art supply stores, the acrylics are under a dollar at Walmart, and the pens are around two dollars each, and come in colors.

I would like to know if there is an etiquitte on "New Year" cards. With Christmas cards, you always want to make sure that they are out before December 25, and to the recipient, but is it that important to get New Year cards to people before the event?

personally, i dont think it is as crucial, but it is still more preferable to do before new years
