Fun ideas for a Christmas Card photo?
Xmas card 2007

Every year, we take a Christmas Card photo of our kids. This year, I want to do something kind of creative. Every year we have them matching and sitting around the Christmas tree. What would be a creative, cheap way to do a fun, cute Christmas Card? Thanks!

And yes, I know it's a bit early, but I need to have an idea early so I can start it by Thanksgiving!

I do that for every holiday. I usually do it outside, and have him dressed in a nice seasonal outfit with a prop.
For Halloween I have him in his costume by a tree with halloween decorations by it.
Thanksgiving - By a pile of leaves with a turkey (stuffed).
Christmas - Outside in the snow on a sled with a wrapped present.

Creative fun Christmas photo card? Couple with 2 dachshunds...?
2005 Xmas card

I am trying to think of something really creative to do on our Christmas card this year. We always just take a picture but I'm really good at Photoshop so I would like to do something creative this year. It's just me, my husband, and our two dachshunds. Any ideas? THANK YOU! :-)

There are a lot of things you can do. I have Paint Shop Pro, but I'm sure Photoshop will allow you to manipulate graphics and pictures in the same way.

You could scan in some pictures of your dogs and you and your husband, then get a graphic of Santa in his sleigh. Put the four of you in the sleigh with Santa as he makes his "rounds." (You could even put each of your faces in place of the face of an elf.)

You could take a picture of each of your dogs barking and then one of each you and your husband with your mouths open like you're singing. Then get a Victorian (outdoor) graphic and put your pictures into it and add what looks like open music in front of each of the four. You could make it like your husband, you and your dogs are out caroling in Victorian England.

Again with a picture of each of the four of you: find a nice nativity graphic and situate the four of you around baby Jesus, as though you are there with the shepherds and the animals in Bethlehem.

You could find a graphic of people opening presents on Christmas day. Scan a picture with all four of you into your computer. Frame it and "manipulate" the graphic and the picture in such a way that the picture of the four of you looks like a gift being opened by one of the "graphic people."

Have a Christmas tree on the front of your card. Take a bunch of pictures of the four of you (and maybe some others of your family or friends) and turn them into ornaments on the tree.

There are a lot of different things you could do like this to make it both unusual and interesting.

God bless and Merry Christmas (early).

What are some fun, creative ideas for christmas cards that play off being pregnant?
Xmas

Our baby is due in January, so everyone already knows. I'm trying to think of creative christmas cards that do something fun with being pregnant, large tummy, etc. Any ideas?
wow - thanks so much for the great ideas! these are much better than any I found on my previous searches! :)

Good question...I'll be checking out all the answers. I am thinking of using my ultrasound photo in my christmas cards (we are due in Feb) but was trying to come up with something a bit more interesting

EDIT// you got me thinking so I went and played around in photoshop with my ultrasound pic and put a santa hat on the profile pic we got. It looks pretty cute

How to announce my pregnancy to family and friends overseas via Christmas card?
Santa Claus has made it home safe after another Christmas trip adventure...

I cannot make it home for Christmas to share the exciting news so I thought it would be nice to share it via Christmas card. I would like a fun and creative idea that is not too expensive and can fit in a small envelope. I have many close family members and friends to send it to. I cannot find pregnancy announcement cards living in Ireland to send and I am running out of time.. Thanks for the help...:0)

Maybe you could hand make a card shaped like a baby diaper and close each card with a diaper pin or ribbon before inserting it into the envelope?

You can download and print a pattern here

What are some really awesome Christmas card ideas?
Merry Christmas and a Swimming New Year

It's Christmas time and I love making cool cards for all my relatives and friends. I was just wondering if anyone had some fun, creative ideas (kind of 'Scrap Book, professional-looking card ideas). I have some materials, but not a ton, so ideas that don't take a bunch of fancy tools/materials would be best. Oh, and pictures would be great also, so I can see what the ideas look like. Thanx a ton!

I made my Christmas cards at CropMom (http://www.cropmom.com). You can see ideas in the CropMom gallery.

CropMom is a free online scrapbooking and greeting card creator. Just register and upload your photos to the site. Click "get started" to begin making your card. I used the 5" by 7" canvas size for my cards.

Drag and drop your photo onto the canvas. You have your choice of beautiful scrapbook graphics to drag and drop onto the canvas. You can rotate and resize photos and graphics, and you can even add your own text.

You can download the low resolution JPEG file of your layout for free to share on the Web or to email to friends.

I purchased for a small fee the high-resolution JPEG file, which allows for high-quality printed. I had my cards printed by Snapfish this year.
