Corporate Christmas Cards

I have to hand write about 80, so I dont want it to be too long.

What is appropriate?

Merry Christmas is not politically correct. CHRISTmas, hence the common usage of the phrase Xmas. Something like 'Wishing you a merry festive season' says it without crossing any boundaries.

Corporate cards, extras never used. Do have the copany name engraved, but never on the front of the card.

I would check with places like daycares, schools, churches and nursing homes. All of these places most likely have craft projects using old cards.

I know they do not celebrate Christmas, however our company would like to show our appreciation of support during 2009. Also would sending a Thank you card rather than a Christmas card be a better idea?

I would definitely say that sending a thank you card would be more appropriate. Sending out a business Christmas card to all of your clients is also an excellent idea, but it can be a time consuming one.

I have a small business myself, and have about 200 people I mail out cards to every year, which can be pretty time consuming. When I was getting ready to tackle the job this year I found a great site that had reviewed a company that allows you to design the card if you want or pick one of theirs, upload a mailing list, and mail the cards for me, all from my desktop. You can even upload your own handwriting as a font to use on the cards. This saved me a ton of time, and I was even able to set up a mailing campaign in advance to send out the cards when I wanted them to go, not a few here and there as we found time to work through the list. I was even able to send gifts with the card to a few select premium clients.

Rooms To Go invited all employees to there annual semi formal Christmas party sign ups were in the middle of October and then December 1st 2 weeks before they un invited all laborers only corporate office, managers, and sales people are allowed. Are these parties not supposed to be for showing appreciation for your hard work.I guess those who bust there humps every day are not appreciated, only those who push pencils. Every other year these are for every employee. This is wrong 90% of the people going already bought clothing. How can such a big company do this? There bribe is a 50.00 gift card for a restaurant. But then they are by them selves and not able to socialize with the people they are around every day but can not get to know well because they are busy working.

I would say that they had very, very bad manners, but not just that. Whoever the individual was that made that decision is extremely unintelligent. They are not good at the job THEY do, which is to keep up the morale of their employees. If you want to stay there, get a spokesperson to talk to the CEO in charge of labor relations or whatever the company calls it, and explain the magnitude of the mistake that was made. If this ever happens again, I'd say you should find another employer, one that appreciates the people who do the hard work.

Really depends on how much space you have available. But the shorter the better, really.

In my cards this year, I simply handwrote:

"Thanks for a great year! Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and a very Happy New Year!"

Cards aren't the time to be elaborate -- they're an opportunity to show your clients that you remember them and are thankful for their business.
