Christmas Tree Stand

I need to get the tree off of the wood it came on (it's nailed on) and get it in the Christmas tree stand.

Have someone hold the tree while you hit the wood with a nice big hammer. Aim your blows parallel to the trunk, towards the base of the tree. Rotate the tree after each blow to slowly work the nails out of the trunk.

After you get the base off, saw a bit off the trunk to help the tree absorb water.

(I guess the shortcut method would be to just saw a hunk off of the trunk, base and all; but this assumes the tree has enough spare trunk to go around, which is not usually the case.)

im going to tryout for a temporary job and was wondering a few things. for a fourteen year old would it be easy trying to put together a christmas tree stand all by hand? And How is it easiest incase they interview and ask about experience?

P.S. I have alot of good skills and could probably do sales for the trees. any tips?

At 14 I wish you luck being able to do it because it's not legal for you to work. As for the stands, they generally come with instructions, that or they are really basic and not hard to figure out

I recently bought a nice artificial Christmas tree that is between 6' and 6'4" tall. I also have 2 young cats that will do anything to get up in the tree and climb it. Only problem is that every time they do they knock over the tree. I got a new stand for the tree but it was for live trees and was cheaply made (it didn't work). Is there a stand for artificial trees that can withstand my cats?

Yes, they do have some stands for artificial trees. It just so happens I am searching for one myself. Type in artificial tree stand in a google search. Places like Amazon do have them listed, and you can read reviews to see if any fit your needs. Bizrate.com will also supply reviews. From what I saw stands accomodate trees with pole 1-14" in diameter. I need something even more narrow for a 3' tree.

We solved our cat/tree problems with a table top tree placed on a round table just big enough for the tree stand base. Gifts were placed around the base of the table.

Or, place some bell ornaments at the bottom of your tree so it will jingle when the cats snoop. Jiggle a pop can with a few pennies or squirt kitty using a water mist bottle when you catch them in the act. Good luck!

Where can I find a christmas tree stand that plays music??? I ordered them from a company but the base did not come with it only the tree. The company is now out of buisness.

have you tried walmart, lowes, home Depot, not sure but i think i remember seeing them in these places last year

The tradition of the Christmas Tree started in Europe and is first recorded in the 16th century, well into the Christian era. There is NO evidence at all of any connection to paganism.

The first Christmas trees were put up on Christmas Eve and were decorated with fruit and nuts (now replaced by glass baubles and candy). Christmas Eve used to be counted as the Feast of Adam and Eve. The connection is obvious - the Christmas tree represents the tree in the Garden of Eden.

The birth of Christ, the second Adam, transforms the tree from a symbol of our fall to a symbol of our redemption. That's why there is a star on top (or an Angel) announcing His coming and lights for the light of Christ.
