Christmas Ideas

well we're going to be moving this year right before the holiday season so my mom is planning ahead since we do thankssgiving, christmas parties, christmas eve, christmas, new years eve and new years she's planning ahead what are some ideas we could have for decorations and gifts for people this year? i already have the presents on the plate idea any others?

when i was a child my grandmother was in a ceramics class and she sent us ALL kinds of painted snowmen and Santa clauses. We have a genuine nutcracker. Nice wreaths and candle holders with the fake leaves and holiday berries surrounding them. of course the tree and stockings. little trinkets you pick up at the store little statues You can decorate the bathroom and kitchen in Christmas towels and have little soaps and stuff. for gifts you have always get little holiday themed baskets to put cookies candy or chocolates in. ( would be a nice touch if they were home made and you added a little recipe card. ) thanksgiving we went to stein-mart and got a whole bunch of turkey themed stuff. a turkey bobble head and a turkey candle. one again a wreath. We like to get table runners in holiday theme. We have a Pumpkin that we use to fill with assorted fall themed potpourri. We have a little husband an wife pilgrim. We have a few tiny painted baby chicks. more holiday themed candles with fall color leaves around them. For Christmas time we actually use Christmas tree trimmings in various decorations like behind some ceramic statues to fill out space. We have a ghost candy jar and a Santa Claus candy jar. be creative and don't limit yourself. im glad you are getting into the holiday spirit. i have a feeling its going to be difficult to Get mine into one this year.

Shopping for ornaments can be overwhelming - so we went to the Roman, Inc. showroom to get some ideas for you!

Looking for unique appetizer and dessert ideas for a Christmas party and a cookie swap. Something festive would be great. No fish please.(allergies)

shrimp dip (for those non allergic!)
spread 1 pkg cream cheese on plate
top with jar of cocktail sauce
nicely arrange small cooked (cold) shrimp on top
serve with wheat Ritz crackers

veggie pizza
lay 2 pkgs croissant dough on baking sheet or pizza pan
bake as directed
mix 1 pkg cream cheese, 1/2 cup mayo, onion power, garlic powder, dill weed- spread on COOLED crust
top with finely chopped broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, tomato, shredded cheese- whatever toppings you want really! you can make it just red and green toppings to make it more festive!

BLT Stuffed Tomatoes
1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
12 cherry tomatoes
DIRECTIONS
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat for 6 to 8 minutes, or until evenly brown. Once cooled, crumble and set aside.
In a bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, bacon, green onions, and parsley until well blended. Set aside.
Cut a small slice from the top of each tomato. Using a melon baller or small spoon, scoop out the inside of each tomato and discard. Fill each tomato with the bacon mixture, and refrigerate for 1 hour. Serve chilled

bacon wrapped water chestnuts
INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, halved
1/2 pound sliced bacon, cut in half
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup tomato-based chili sauce
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Wrap each water chestnut with a piece of bacon. Place the rolls seam-side down in a baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until bacon is crisp and cooked through. Drain off the grease. In a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, brown sugar and chili sauce; pour over the bacon-chestnut rolls. Return to the oven and bake for another 30 minutes.
