how quickly do you think israel will be dropped from americas christmas card list just like so many nations that have come before have experienced?
how do they have the wrong ally. Israel is their base in the middle east. Israel may not have resources but theyre the US watchdog in the region

As fast as you can say "God Bless Israel". However, I think the die-hard Christians would have a HUGE problem with it. But you know, I will be upset if they make a fuss over cutting Israel's aid. Where were they when US sponsored a Jihad against the Soviets? When US worked with Sadaam?

TBH, I see Israel dropping the US before the US drops her soon. Just like every place US pours money into; it always comes to bite them in the butt.

Edit: LOL. hahaha. I can so see that happening. Fundamentalist Christians drive me up the wall.

Instead of sending the usual edible cheap gifts to family members, I would like to give donations to charitable organizations in my family member's names. Like send a stocking or gingerbread house to kids in the hospital or provide meals for the hungry, etc. Does anyone know of some good resources or websites that facilitate this. Ultimately I am looking for a more convenient way of doing this that will also send a card letting them know what I have done, etc. Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't want to sound pushy but, If you would be willing to help and individual, I would like to put my name forward. My husband died last year after about 5 yrs of battling Hepatitis C and having a liver transplant. My daughters (teens) have gone without because of the high medical bills and only one income we had. I thought this year would be different but I lost my job and got behind. I am now working but I am trying to catch up on all the past due bills so again there won't be anything left for Christmas. I am not asking for anything extravigant, but my girls could use the basics, some new clothes, jacket, ect. Or we could use a donation for groceries.

If you would rather not help an individual, there is a great website its www.modestneeds.org that help individuals with verified requests.

I really can't be bothered but have to send them at least to people that send me one otherwise they feel upset. Every couple of years I don't bother at all though

And don't be surprised if our CEO shows up dressed as Santa Claus!

A Christmas tree will be lit at 1:00pm. Exchange of gifts among employees can be done at that time; however, no gift should be over $10.00 to make the giving of gifts easy for everyone's pockets. This gathering is only for employees! Our CEO will make a special announcement at that time!

In no way was yesterday's memo intended to exclude our Jewish employees. We recognize that Chanukah is an important holiday, which often coincides with Christmas, though unfortunately not this year.
However, from now on we're calling it our 'Holiday Party.' The same policy applies to any other employees who are not Christians or those still celebrating Reconciliation Day.

Regarding the note I received from a member of Alcoholics Anonymous requesting a non-drinking table .. you didn't sign your name. Forget about the gifts exchange, no gifts exchange are allowed since the union members feel that $10.00 is too much money and executives believe $10.00 is a little chintzy. NO GIFTS EXCHANGE WILL BE ALLOWED.

What a diverse group we are! I had no idea that December 20 begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which forbids eating and drinking during daylight hours. There goes the party! Seriously, we can appreciate how a luncheon at this time of year does not accommodate our Muslim employees' beliefs. Perhaps the Grill House can hold off on serving your meal until the end of the party- or else package everything for you to take it home in little foil doggy baggy. Will that work?

Meanwhile, I've arranged for members of Weight Watchers to sit farthest from The dessert buffet and pregnant women will get the table closest to the restrooms.

Gays are allowed to sit with each other. Lesbians do not have to sit with Gay men, each will have their own table. Yes, there will be flower arrangement for the Gay men's table.
To the person asking permission to cross dress, no cross-dressing allowed though.

We will have booster seats for short people.
Low-fat food will be available for those on a diet.

We cannot control the salt used in the food we suggest for those people with high blood pressure to taste first.

There will be fresh fruits as dessert for Diabetics, the restaurant cannot supply 'No Sugar' desserts. Sorry!

Our Christmas party has been called the end of year party to accomodate everyone. Even though they have changed the name, the same people who like to party are going and to us it's still the Christmas party.
