Christmas Card Print

I would like to dress up my labels for my Christmas Cards but I cant seem to be able to merge the Avery template to my data which I have saved in Excel spreadsheet.

I print ordinary plain labels like this all the time using J8160 -21 labels to the page but when I download a pre-designed template from the Avery free downloads they fail to merge with my data - any suggestions please?

I use MS Word - Mail Merge to do mine.
Firstly, I select a small christmas image and print this on all the labels, usually on the lower right hand side of the label.
make is small enough so you avoid the letters of the addresses.
Once I have printed enough of the labels, I run them through the printer again - this time using the mail merge application in Wor, printing the names and addresses on the labels.
It takes a bit of time but it's worth it for a nice result.

Create your card at CropMom (http://www.cropmom.com).

Register, then upload your photo. Since you want to print your card, make sure you use a high-resolution photo. Click Get Started and choose the 5" by 7" canvas size because that's best for cards.

Drag and drop your photo onto the canvas. You can resize and rotate the photo. There are thouasnds of designer digital scrapbook graphics to choose from, including two kits that are specifically for Christmas (Home for the Holidays and Oh, What Fun It Is!). Drag the graphics onto the canvas. You can rotate and resize them, too. Add your own text.

Save your final layout. You can download the low-resolution version of your layout for free for sharing on the Web or for e-mailing to friends.

Since you want to print yours, purchase the high-resolution JPEG file of your layout from CropMom. It's inexpensive. Then, you can print the card at home or have it printed by a photofinisher, such as Snapfish or Shutterfly. The final results are spectacular.

What is the easiest way to get my Christmas card list which is in Microsoft Word set up to print my envelopes? Please be specific. Thank You.

Leaving the Mail Merge process itself out of the discussion, Word can take several different file formats as mailing lists. Usually, they're in Excel or Access, but another Word file is also possible.

In general, separate your fields (first name, last name, the typical parts of the address) with a specific character that won't normally occur in any of your text. A tab character or a semi-colon might do. A blank will probably not work.

Then, put each record (one name and address) on a single line. I would suspect and hope Mail Merge will accept a single paragraph, but I'm not sure.

When Mail Merge asks you for the Data Source, find and select this file. You'll be asked about the field and record delimiters, and you'll select the ones you set up above.

A word of warning. You'll get the best use out of this if you re-use the list year after year, adding and subtracting names each year. The first year, with all the set up, is always the hardest. The payback comes after that.

I want to make a Christmas card for my friend using only a computer. But I know MS Publisher can do that but I don't think I have that program on my computer. Is there any website where they give you all the things you need like MS Publisher has and you can print it?

I like this one, the HP website, can add digital photo or any digital picture, then customize it and print.
