Christmas Card Photo Insert

Answers

Where's the best place to buy Christmas photo insert cards, preferably for a wallet size photo?

We're getting a portrait package made next weekend at Olin Mills. They can make greeting cards for us but they are expensive. So, I wanted to get a card that says "Merry Christmas" or whatever and has little slots where I can insert our family photo and mail to relatives.

Do you have a photo shop in your area? If so ask that or get the wallet sized photo of wateva and decorate it with merry christmas stickers ect. it would be more special if it were home made

Sending photo greeting cards for Christmas?

I'd originally planned to send a small group of family & friends photo greeting cards for Christmas (you know, those cards where you can insert your own photo into the front) - of myself, my husband and my 2.5 year old daughter.

We admittedly left the photo taking to the very last minute, and even though we were posing in the back yard for half an hour - with my daughter in the cute little elf outfit that I bought her - we couldnt get a good photo of her. She was either constantly looking away at the wrong moment, or had her face buried into my shoulder or was crying.

Now it's too late to try and take anymore photos - the cards needs to go out today.

Would it be tacky if I just put a photo of myself and my husband in the cards, without a picture of our daughter??

If you could get a photo of her napping in the elf suit and write "Silent Night"the front of the card, that would be cute

Which photo of my son should I put inside our Christmas Cards?

We were going to do the whole family shot and send out the cards with the picture on them. But we are already giving our family and friends family pictures of us for gifts. Also he's only almost 10 months so its not like we can hardly get a good shot of him. We have family that live far and haven't seen him at all or doesn't see him much. So I just wanted to insert a picture of him and didn't know if I should go with a traditional picture or a Christmas one. What do you think?

Aww. The 2nd one. That one is so sweet I think I just got a cavity. I have lots of families in other states too, I would go ahead and send the Christmas one.

USB thumb drive supposed to work with digital photo frame?

I purchased a Curtis DPF712 digital photo frame for a Christmas gift but it does not read the usb thumb drive I insert into the usb port. It will read off of the digital camera card direct from the camera, but does not recognize the usb drive when inserted. IS it supposed to? Or is the usb port there for some other reason? Or is this unit defective?

Are you sure that the USB port isnt there so that you can connect the frame to your computer to upload pictures? Make sure you read your manual, it should give specific information about the USB port.

Compact Flash Card is unreadable?

Hi,

I have a compact flash card that is unreadable. My card reader in my computer stopped working after I inserted it. My mobile card reader will not work with it in, and the camera will not work with it in.

I really do not want to lose all my Christmas photos. Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

thanks,

Annette
We tried both solutions and card continues to be unreadable. Is there some place the disk can be sent that can read it?

If you can see the drive, then a file rescue application is what you need. I've used WinHex. It's effective but because it is fundamentally a hex editor it is not that intuitive (there is a file recovery menu item, so it's not all that bad - you don't have to think in hexadecimal or anything). I think Lexar may have a photo recovery application - there was certainly a trial version on some Lexar cards I bought.

If you can't even see the drive then file rescue will not help. In this case you need an application that can read the drive even though the operating system is unable to mount it. For this I've used BadCopy Pro very successfully.

Neither WinHex or BadCopy Pro are freeware, but I was happy to pay what they asked and they are very useful tools to have in your possession.

Statement of the obvious perhaps, but make sure you don't recover files to the same drive that you are recovering them from. Hope you get the pictures back.
