We are preparing a fundraiser for our son's school which we are going to sell christmas cards with the student's artwork. We are trying to get the appropriate supplies for a fold over card and want to make sure that the paper weight is correct.
You can get blank cards with envelopes at office supply stores like Staples which would look professional, as they are pre-scored and some are textured, but I get plain card stock and card envelopes at Walmart. I make all my own cards.
Make a pop out christmas card with this easy to follow video with Leona from Artists Resource! See www.artistsresource.co.uk for more information.
Every year I like to make my parents a homemade card for Christmas, and I like it to be really creative. I can't think of any ideas, does anyone have any?
Please have it be something I can make with
*Computer
*Construction Paper
*Glue
*Other typical art supplies...thanks!
If you are making just one card, why not go to a scrapbook store and buy some nice embellishments and coordinating cardstock.
Not only will you see a lot of samples for ideas but most stores also offer classes if you are interested in learning more.
Some stores are quite helpful and will give you pointers on how to use their product if you see a sample in the store you want to produce.
Since I am a beginner I'd of course prefer easy ones. Can you get all the supplies at scrapbooking stores?
I found a nice tutorial with pictures at the DIY network website: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/hd_christm as/article/0,2025,DIY_13889_2276835,00.h tml
This site also gives a nice list of books about card making that you may want to check out from your library.

I'm no Martha Stewart, but I wanna nice Christmas tree, and I can't afford to put any money into it.
I like the ones in the store, but they are like $20 for a box, or $1 or $2 apiece, and that is just not happening for me this year.
The tree is 7ft tall, and it currently has 2 dozen glitter stars, 18 gold balls, 3 streams of gold garland, and gold and red beads and lights of course.
Ive made some homemade ornaments with gold glitter out of old christmas cards, a John Lennon pic, and some family pics. But I'm tired of glitter picture frame ornament, what else can I do.
I have gold glitter, glue, & red ribbon, and am willing to buy more supplies if necessary.
Go to the park and collect those big pinecones(not the sticky kind) Put them in a warm place if they haven't opened . Spray with hairspray and add glitter and tie a ribbon on the end to hang on the tree. I still use mine from when my daughter was little. she's now 33. If you have kids, you can keep them busy by giving them glue and coloured beads ,green paint and pinecones.. When they are done the cones look like decorated Christmas trees !
I love my dad so much and he is a great guy. And I really want to make him a homemade but awesome card. Show a website for the card or explain it. I have all the supplies exept those fancy scissors that cut ridges and stuff. Just help me. All dad's answer this: What kind of a card would you want from your 12 year old girl!
If you can find a pic of the two of you when you were little try and recreate the picture, without him knowing with help from mom or a sibling, and then buy a double picture frame and put both in it!!
